another two pictures of our Knips - Thanks Maris

from DD-Forum - by MĀRIS » 23 Jun 2018 18:57

text all GTed:
Our traveler is currently in Kemeri, and is waiting for the second round of the trip, now with Jānis Ķ. Another couple of biljukov with Knipuci.

Here again in Dundaga before the start of the trip.

And here already in the "wagon" trip - a box in Kemeri.

If I see right, our Knipsi has lost some feathers above his left eye.
Probably caused by the fall, when he hit against min. 2 branches, what could be heard clearly.

When I understood right, they have an amount of 47 kg "herons" and other kind of fish now transported

I will figure it out, if I understood well...... ***

Knips has minor scratches, so it lacks a few feathers over the left eye. He is a brave little eagle, all the adventures he had now the last two days.

*** complement:

People in Latvia are really great. They bought 22 kg of fish in stores in addition to the already donated 25 kg. Thus, Knips draws with a dowry of 47 kg in his new home in the rehab center. The other eagles who are staying there will also be pleased. :2thumbsup:

Since lunch and after the visit of the young eagle was no food delivery anymore for Bosse.
She nibbled on the old bones again and again.

20:31 but Bosse is in a good mood, enterprising, hopping from side to side in the nest, exploring and even kicking the left tree trunk  chackaaa
Image

21:00 then she heard some noise, someone is climbing up the nest tree.....
.....this time the visitor is a nice, harmless woodpecker :D
Image

22:00 sleeping time, she tucked her head in on her back
Image

Hopefully tomorrow morning you'll get a big breakfast.

Many thanks to the Latvian helpers. Toole thing. Knips will not have to starve anymore. I am looking forward to new pictures and information from him. Good night to all.

"alvuks" is the hero who transported all the fish for Knips to the rehab center.

Thank you very much, alvuks  :2thumbsup:

here is Knips' new home and his 3 new friends.
The cage to the right will be Knips', for the time being until mid-August.
When Knips is ready to fly he will be moved to another cage, a high cage. *** 1)
Then he can fly out and fly in, food will be served without human contact.

Here you can read more about, this is the post from "alvuks" in DD-Forum:

I'm so happy for Knips. They said he will be a free eagle after the time in rehab center.
I can not thank enough these committed, selfless people in Latvia for their efforts. :2thumbsup:

I meant olgapyat in the yt chat. She asked me to make a video.

Balistar thank you for the updates. The little one looks not happy at all. There is too much action around him right now. He'll be fine when he's in his cage. I'm sure, one day he will fly high :chick:

Today Bosse so far is well supplied with food :D

11:42 a parent brought a little piece of food. It was not clear visible who it was and what it was.

11:56 CILLA (!) brought another piece of food - another small flatfish, flounder 8-)

No worries anymore about probably one parent got lost:
Both parents have been seen at the nest this morning.
Everything is fine so far in this nest. I hope it will go on like this.
