This eaglet has new feathers in the right wing. It is to be seen just after the arrivel. It shows moulting and is then from 2018, 2cy.

you may well be right, Sonchik.
äsch, sorry: albicilla!
it's too bad that the eaglet did not come down to the nest and show herself better.
- besides the ankles looked so thin that this eaglet was probably a male.
(Vilnis? )
the visit of the greater spotted woodpecker. there were also voices of bullfinch, redwing and blackbird.

At 8:32, 8:39, 8:43, 8:45 a bird on the right branch.
Ame, you texted Sonchik, but you answered the albicilla.
This eagle is definitely not Rika, it has different proportions.
Today's eagle's back looks as white as yesterday's bird.

The tail feathers are too neat for Wilnis. More like Robi.

there were a lot of little birds around the nest. they had their breakfast buffet at the nest tree.
mostly i saw great tits but i think there were probably other tits, too.
i suppose i made the mistake because your avatar was so near up there. sorry albicilla!
it always amazes me how you can spot such things as proportions of the bodies etc in the eaglets.
if it was Vilnis who can know what he looks like this year. but i think it was the same eaglet as yesterday.

Just like in humans. If you show only the elbow of a tall, thin man and the elbow of a short and fat man, you will immediately understand whose elbows they are. So did the Eagles.

17:41 a woodpecker is calling somewhere near but is staying out of sight.
17:45 the woodpecker flew away.

i'm not certain at all that i would see the difference in such a small detail. i don't believe that i have "the eye" for that. that's a special talent, or you have to have a lot of practise and exercise.

good morning!
it's raining... this is no eagle weather.
a blackbird was calling nearby for a long while...
8:09 a bird flew away from the top and the calling stopped.

Thanks Liz!
I thought it's a kind of hawk but didn't see them sitting before... usually they come like wind and fly away

a nice visitor!
i made a video of her whole stay, 14 min. we see them so seldom for a longer time than a blink.
she seemed to practise similar hunting strategy as eagles: sitting on a branch and actively monitoring the surroundings for a suitable, unsuspecting prey.
and sunshine, what a nice surprise!
