At 20:00, the screams intensified. At 20:04, parents yelling again.
At 20:27 again screams intensified.
Why have we heard parents a lot lately?

Gorgeous capture, Sonchik!

I’m surprised at the amount of woodpeckers visiting this nest. :puzzled:
Do they just like the old spruce tree?

it's a good old spruce tree with a lot of fresh cones.
we have often heard also a squirrel there in the past few weeks. they eat seeds of green fresh cones like we eat asparagus in the spring.

the Moon is peeking from behind the tree. :innocent:

:rotf: Is that a fact Ame? How interesting. All of the squirrels I have ever seen always ate brown, dried cones. And around squirrel nests, I also always saw shells of old pinecones.
Do they real eat green ones? Then it must be for vitamins, probably.

i haven't actually seen a squirrel eating a green cone but i have seen this very summer a squirrel carrying a green cone. also around our spruces there are a lot of green scales of spruce cones. i think they must come from the cones which squirrels have eaten. i cannot imagine any other source for them. (woodpeckers work in a different way). i thought then that the green cones are a delicacy for squirrels.

another possibility is that they have little other food but that does not seem plausible in summer, does it?

6:01 Rika called and Miks replied. they were not very near.
about a minute later more calls.
6:02 more.
6:05 more. then they continued calls every now and then till 6:24.
for some reason Rika was easier to find now.
6:25 started continuous crying and calling. both voices. they flew farther. this sounded like a fish song.

Good Morning!

09:01 he jumps down to the trunk from the branch.
While being there, for the first time, he was able to see the "nest" from above. He looked like saying: "I know the nest better than the others, but this is another place, it's not my sweet home". :innocent:

He is moving the sticks above the micro and it sounds odd, like moving furnitures above your head.

9:55 Miks yawned. twice.
Image

9:56 he almost fell asleep, his head dropped. then he forced himself up again.
the microphone is so good and there is so little material above it so that it is possible to hear Miks' beak snap when he closes it after the yawn. :whistling:

He came in and went out by the same door

He is so funny, even when he is serious

I can watch him for hours... I made all my preparations for diner in front of a computer... :rotf:

Ahhh... don't change his gender! An eagle who fell at branching in us, is still in rehab and now they declared he is a male.
That was what the experienced watchers said since he was a baby. :2thumbsup:
