for a while now, linda (i think) has been pecking at the moss in the side of the nest - I've never seen her doing this before... I wonder if it's a sign of anything or not? :puzzled:

edit: is she eating this stuff? looks like feathers, moss...

Sulev brought this "something" (which I could not make out what it was, bigger than a vole), arranged it around until Linda came. Linda plucked it (feathers or fur?) and ate it!

When Sulev came to the nest he brought a mammal - but he didn´t eat it ... he stored it as a gift for Linda ...

i made a picture of a GOOGLE-map. Nõva village is marked with a red label 1, the eagle feeding place is somewhere there. the nest camera is named after Saunja village, which is in the green rectangle. it's the closest village to Silma nature reserve which is about where the red elllipse is. Haapsalu is the closest bigger city. the big island on the left is Vormsi where many of the eagles that we have seen here this winter have been born.
btw: Vormsi's old, Swedish name is Ormsö which means Snake island.
many of the names here have Swedish origins, because in the 17th centure Estonia was a part of Sweden, not an ancient part like Finland was but conquered in wars.
for example many names end in -by. by is village is Swedish. Österby is Eastern village.

i estimate that the direct distance between Saunja and Nõva can't be much more than 30 km (based on the scale in the lower left corner). i have faint memory that Renno or Urmas once wrote that feeding place and the old nest were about 30 km apart. the nest nest is a few km from the old nest.
i have no idea how large these village areas are so i can't say what is the distance between the camera sites, but i should think that it can't be more than 50 km. - the exact locations are of course kept secret.
Thank you ame for all the information!
