ESTLAT Estonian WTE Webcam 2013

So I wish you tomorrow a nice day on the nest-cam and hopefully you will "catch" the second egg. Unfortunately I have to go to work tomorrow and I can't watch the cam's .
When I wake up at 5:30h I have to shovel the snow away first. In the last 2 hours we have at least 15cm new snow. And it's still snowing.

6:04 the camera has just started. it's still too dark to see anything...

the question of names will be decided by our Estonian members when that time comes, as usual.

6:07 there's a sleeping bird.

one egg, still.




Linda isn't very "good" in the morning... hair uncombed and eyes still half closed.

it looks and sounds very cold again. trees are snapping in frost... it very quiet, not even dogs have started calling yet.

Linda saw something.... but it was nothing.


6:29 one dog is barking very far. noises of traffic... and a little bird of some sort.

Linda got up to turn the egg.


then she made some streches.


and then she went to the loo.

7:07 Sulev came and brought nothing.


Linda is talking softly to him... at least i think it is Linda who is beeping.

Sulev jumped to the branch on the right and out of sight.


7:10 he took off. just the WOSCHH!

then he sang a little in the forest. Linda is still very sleepy.

Sulev arrived at 7:08, Linda was very ignorant. Sulev stayed only a couple of minutes, moved to a nearby branch and then left.

A beautiful and cold morning, Linda is in the nest.

07:52 - It's itchy..

07:53 - Checking egg and nest bowl..

8.23 eagle calls from the forest: Sulev i think. then Linda answered.

then nothing. Linda is still not very much awake.

8:29 change of turns. Sulev came with a stick.


they talked a little. Linda left and Sulev stays.

9:33 some loud birds entertained Sulev.
- i thought first that they were nuthatches... but the bird who flew on the lower left side of the nest looked too big for a nuthatch..? and had a silhuotte which reminded of a jay so now i'm not sure..?


it's a beautiful perfectly calm morning.

change of turns: Sulev got up and flew out at 10:15:57

and Linda in at 10:17:13. nest was empty for 1 min 16s.





they sang together in the forest nearby.

a woodpecker came too close to the nest: it moved branches on the right side of the nest.
finally Linda blew her fuse.





(or a jay? maybe both? i saw some black&white bird. )
