5:47 Liina while she make that strange (interesting!) sound

Soon, more flapping was heard and Miiko landed on the nest.

5:48 Liina kept touching Miiko's beak, as though begging for food.

They preened each others neck feathers a little bit, and Miiko stretched his wings

Hello everybody
Did you see that (at around 8:40)? The 2 young were on the nest, then they heard something. One flew away immediately. The other remained with a very agressive behaviour. Then arrived an eagle on the nest. He is still there. And the second young left at the same time :puzzled:

Eagle in the nest
Part II

Image

Yes, WTE had no rings. I think it was a youngster. Second/ third winter or something? Maybe Ame can tell us a bit more about the age of the eagle.
It was a beautiful guy but he don't have to attack our storklets!!!!!!

OMG, what a drama this morning, an eagle in the nest
I hope Miiko is ok, I think it sounded as if he chrash- landed in the bushes.

Thank you all for pictures, videos and comments, what a luck that you saw it

The eagle was beautiful, for a moment it almost looked as if he considered it as a future home;)

A huge thunderstorm is comming, we can hear it now, so unfortunately I have to log off...

 ohhoh! a WTE!! on a BS nest!
wow it was so great that Liina and Miiko could fly well already. i haven't watched the videos yet...

Manu :hi:
thank you for pointing this to me! i think you are right about the age. it didn't look like this summer's eagle and maybe it wasn't last year's eagle either. it was probably at least 2 years old, maybe 3. it had still a very dark beak (young) but a lot of light grey feathers in the plumage (older).

let's see what Urmas or Renno can say about this.
