Caught two visitors today ...

.... a Great Tit at 10:36 ...

... and a Jay at 13:18

The Great Tit was only on a short visit, but the Jay stayed quite a while around the nest, turning around leafs and examining the trees bark very thoroughly.

Yes, it means season is over and we will go and remove system in forest for winter. If some time will be for this.

What we might write for finalizing the season?
Any ideas...
First of all my thanks to you and Renno (and everyone else involved) for maintaining the camera system there and taking care for the storks. It is a real pleasure to watch those two Black Storks raising their storklets on this nest. I have enjoyed watching this for the third time now and was happy that we could follow an unagitated nesting season in spite of the late beginning. I was glad that not all 5 eggs hatched but two healthy storklets were flying out in the end!

The last Pontu picture showing Liina and Miiko together on the nest on 3rd August, 2 minutes later the young White-tailed eagle arrived and only one storklet spent a last night on the nest:

Good bye Tiina and Tiit, have a safe journey and come back next spring! To Liina and Miiko I wish a long and healthy life! Stay away from power poles, fishing nets and other hazards!
And to the WtE - look for a different nest!

Yes, that's true, its camouflage is perfect! :D

Early in the afternoon, another amateur of insects hidden under the bark of the nest tree appeared, a Nuthatch.

As we could read here http://www.looduskalender.ee/en/node/18356 the cam was taken down and transferred to the WtE nest recently, we will close this topic soon.

Will they be getting a new camera for the black stork nest? I loved watching this nest, and will miss them if we dont get to watch in the coming year.

No-one can say for sure, what may happen next nest season. But the Black Stork webcam has been on since 2007.

I will surely miss the adult storks and their family if it's not on next year. I seemed to have adopted them.

I think we should add, that cameras are moved around with the seasons passing. Nest cams go to other places like the boar feeding ground or the bird feeder. It is not unusual that they are taken off and down in autumn and are brought back in spring.
We all hope for another season with Tiina and Tiit and hope that both come back safe and healthy next April!
