Oh, no!

Macko, I think one egg can be seen near the lower left corner, it looks damaged. Wonder what happened? Perhaps some intruder "paid a visit" in the nest and a fight ensued, ... and the eggs were destroyed.

I do hope that the female will lay more eggs yet.

2nd April

Two weeks have passed since the Hungarian Black Stork couple stays together. Still no eggs, but the storks do not get discouraged and continue their efforts. Maybe I'm wrong, but the female seems to be quite young and perhaps she needs more time to relevant biological processes are running? Not excluded it is her first breeding season? I believe that soon she finally lays eggs.

Hungarian Black Storks have their first egg! :loveshower:

I can not capture even one good screenshot, the camera has continuous disruption and the image is distorted. :???:
Here are two relatively best pictures that I was able to take in the last half hour.

13:45 Still three eggs in the Hungarian Black Stork nest. In my opinion, this would be enough, but maybe later will be the fourth.

Lucy, :hi: very similar pictures :D

16:48 A beautiful Black Stork. I don't know if it's the male or the female. But he/she is wearing a ring, so it is probably Tobias?

May 6th, Hungarian Black Storks

All seems to be fine at the Black Storks nest. The nestbowl has become much, much deeper. Preparation for the chicks, which will hatch soon :D :2thumbsup:.
The first storklet can be expected around the 13th of May. This is day 34 after laying second egg.

At about 15:15 nest time.

The Italian nest was disturbed last year too & all the eggs were destroyed.I dont remember if the couple rebuilt or not.
Mind you this couple of BS have not chosen a great spot to build their nest... not good on a deep slope either !
Maybe they will start again ?

Good morning everybody!

Hello macdoum :hi:
Yes, they did. This or another couple (I don't remenber anymore) had three chicks and brought them up very well.

But since yesterday we have a new chick in Italy. :shake: And today there are two! :loveshower:

Last year, or the year before, somebody (maybe Macko or Mutikluti?) made a video of Tiina listening to her chicks, who where still inside the eggshell.
It was very amazing to hear the voices pretty loud out of the eggs which where still closed!
Unfortunately, I lost this video. Does anybody still have it and post it again???
I would be so happy!
