I just came back from work, and checked the nest cam immediately, but there's no one there. I feel so sad, it's become like a habit checking on the owls regularly :slap:

Now that the young owls have left their nestbox
you might be interested to look at the Dutch
webcam where you sometimes can see 5 young foxes playing in the fields outside their den. There
also live red deer, roedeer, geese etc.:
Nature reserve De Oostvaarder plassen.

Follow the fox..

Has also nightview. Cam 3, is outside.

hello!

We are Lenya and Katia from Moscow, Russia. we observe owls only the second day and already very attached to them. Is it true that they have left the nest and will not return there this year? also could you tell me, please, who we saw yesterday in the nest - chicks and two parents or three chicks? and what are the name of the chicks?

thank you

Hello and welcome to the forum!

The little owlets are out of their nestbox and will not return, they are living on the nest tree and its surrounding now, until they will be able to fly. Parents are feeding them now outside.

Yesterday you could see the three little owlets, as well as their parents, Klaara and Klaus, who brought the food for them.

Owlets names were Inno, Alli and Eike.

You can read more here, in introduction post and update post:
viewtopic.php?p=299930#p299930

In the topic you can re-read all about their owlet-life, until they left yesterday evening.

I live in Lithuania, in town Kaunas. I started watching these lovely owls three weeks ago. And watched all the day. So i became so sad, then they left the their nestbox. But just is the nature. I am happy and hope they will discover wonderful world.

It is nice to read the posts of other members  Thank for sharing videos.

Here you can see young owls in Vingio park, in Vilnius:

The life of an owl "after the box"....

To those of us who wish to see the way a Tawny Owl left his box in The Netherlands , few days ago (May 13), you can watch excellent videos on pages 9-10 on this site:
http://www.natuurkanaal.nl/Forum/viewto ... 0&start=80

The mother had 3 eggs but just this owlet survived. He had a lot of food all that time but at the end, after his mom left the box during the day, he was very bored by himself.

Their window is connected to branches and this makes it easy to go out and even come back. He left early in the morning and was very cute trying to walk on the branch. Few minutes later, mother came with food – it was a very special and even touching video to watch when she saw he is not there(on page 9).

During his first day out, we were able to watch him jumping and walking on the branches of green trees, because the outside camera covers a large area there. You can see it in many of the videos (page 10).
During the first night, Mom came again with food she stayed a while in the box and looked sad or thoughtful.

Hope you'll enjoy those nice videos with an happy end which helped me to forget the sad events of last weekend.
