it's past sunset at Lake Lubans now. after sunset it becomes dark rather quickly so it's no use waiting any longer tonight... still there's no camera. i hope everything is otherwise ok. at least the weather was fine there today. for tomorrow rain is expected. i hope that we'll hear some news tomorrow.

good night! :offtobed:

in the Latvian Dabasdati forum their member karlisb wrote at 13:00 (1pm):

this is a link which leads to a Twitter message:
https://twitter.com/dabasdati/status/474833471899455488

the message says:
Šajā nedēļas nogalē ornitologs J.Ķuze dosies gredzenot jūras ērgļu mazuļus ligzdā pie Lubānas ez. Ļoti ceram, ka izdosies atjaunot tiešraidi
G-translator gives:
"This weekend ornithologist J.Ķuze will girdle the sea eagles nest babies at Lubāna ez. We hope it will be possible to restore the live"
(live transmission, probably)

Owlie, i guess the end of the week here means Saturday-Sunday. weekend begins at 8 pm on Friday.
fingers crossed and thumbs up for successful repairs of the camera! :2thumbsup:

The German "Freitag" (= Friday) is named Freitag, because I have already frei (= free). :whistling: :headroll:
Fingers crossed for Janis and a save return to earth after ringing!

Ok, ame.
When I was still in work life the weekend began latest at three o'clock Friday afternoon ...

So there will just be still a couple of days to reload the cam nonstop ... I first of all wish everything is fine in the nest and secondly that we get a returned view into the nest.

@ Janne+Ais
That is what I mean, too!

But all the luck for Jānis in his work when ever it is best for him to approach the nest.

Hey, the Pontu cam is recording pictures again since last evening! Though the stream I could not open now!

I see two huge eaglets on a picture from last evening

How wonderful to see the eaglets! And the growth was to be expected - their crops are full and they have been taken care of so fine; if Jānis was there yesterday it is good to see a parent already back in the nest. Thanks Felis and Britta! I have to go to Pontu now and see every picture!
:loveshower:

The eaglets have started a painting hobby since last time ...
:whistling:

I checked pics of today every 5 mins
I have passed the resting eaglets - took mainly parents' visits
:

The first picture of a parent back 05:44 this morning, the first feeding lasted from 05:44 to 06:03 - I don't see rings, is it Lubana then?:

Impressive wing excercise:

Next parent visit - still Lubana feeding 09:41-09:49:
http://193.40.124.24/2014-juras-erglis- ... -09-41.jpg

Then Lubana on the branch 09:49-10:03:
http://193.40.124.24/2014-juras-erglis- ... -09-50.jpg

And then back in the nest while chicks resting 10:03-10:26:
http://193.40.124.24/2014-juras-erglis- ... -10-26.jpg

A parent - I think still Lubana - flying in again for 10:47-11:41:
http://193.40.124.24/2014-juras-erglis- ... -10-47.jpg

Next parent visit 12:24-12:36:
http://193.40.124.24/2014-juras-erglis- ... -12-24.jpg

Next parent feeding visit 13:34-14:43 (could be also both parents changing):
http://193.40.124.24/2014-juras-erglis- ... -13-34.jpg

Parent (Sartas?) in the nest again 16:12-16:21:
http://193.40.124.24/2014-juras-erglis- ... -16-12.jpg

Next parent visit 17:55-17:56:
http://193.40.124.24/2014-juras-erglis- ... -17-55.jpg

Big eaglets with their great paintings:

So in all the chicks have had a great support of the parents today!
