they seem to have only one ring each, on the right foot a blue over black ring. that is the Latvian colours, but they have no year ring on the left foot...?

SO NICE, thank you! The chicks are getting to sleep in the dark night. Lovely to see them live even in the darkness!

Hello,
as you probably noticed, both chicks are ringed now - on Saturday they got blue/black rings on their right legs with numbers Latvia Riga H376 and H377. Ame mentioned the lack of ring on left leg - since 2012 we were using black "K" series rings on left leg, but starting from late this season only rings on right leg will be used (the colour code and the design of digits/letters are good enough to do the ring readings from one ring only in most cases).
By the same visit the camera system was repaired as well - as we predicted, the problem was in cable joint. From late Sunday stream is back online. Thanks to Jānis Rudzītis and Uģis Bergmanis, who provided help during this event!

Thanks for the information and thanks for the work. I found that the Pontu cam (still pictures) has started working yesterday evening already, so we could see that both eaglets have received rings and look well.

As far as I know, it is difficult or even impossible to determine the sex of these birds. But nevertheless: Is there any estimation by Janis and friends?
