This evening I have seen probably Harriet in the nest tree on the upper right branch alone for a long time. Someone told on the forum that Harriet is that calm because she feels M15 somewhere close. I would be happier, if I saw M15 to join Harriet in the nest tree ...

It looks like that M15 beak(nare) is injured or was injured. That is a maker for ID.

Yes, on the left side from the nose it looks like a scratch, but I think, it is not a heavy injury. Maybe there was a fight between M15 and Slim or from something other.

When we hear mating vocalizations, it does not always mean the act has occurred. We hear those vocals today but there is no bonding in the guise of mating. Mutual mating vocals are a type of bonding also. The way of the eagle continues to unfold before our eyes. May we observe and learn - not judge or predict. Miss you Ozzie.

I may be overexcited and silly, but I got a thought that Harriet's hormones might have began to work earlier than usually, when she has "lost" two mates for a short time and experienced stress since the spring this year. Maybe she is early in her physical schedule to ensure reproduction of her legacy ... They say at the chat and forum that she would be fertile first in early November ...
