Snad aspoň 1 z nich byl ten sledovaný GPS,zážitek přesto nezapomenutelný.

Liz, another feel-good picture! Thanks!
It is good to see 2 generations hanging out. I like to think they are "our" family.
I thought they would do more flying, trying to get to Africa as soon as possible, but as it seems, their adventure is more about the journey than the destination.
This is their growing-up year. They must learn much and experience even more.
Hope all continues to go well.

Sorry! It was perhaps not entirely clear?Of course, is also the second link of Guiseppe. I personally am not in Czechia.
Birdfriend It is not certain that there is a Polish family. The images, which he then shows are from 2014.
Guiseppe was very close to the nest. Hopefully he doesn't interfere the Storks? But maybe he has a very good camera telephoto lens?
Normally you have to maintain a distance about 200m min.

A to byl konec pozorování = And that was the end of observation. is written in the picture
Guiseppe was too close to the storks. They saw him and flew away.
I saw it yesterday. Did not say anything. I think he used the coordinates from transmitter tracking, to find the storklets. my opinion

You mustn't worry. She can do her experiences here as well as somewhere else.
That is why I think, it is even better that she stays here as long as possible.
It is a nice area, she has enough food and she is getting companionship !
The conditions couldn't be better to prepare herself for the big journey.
She doesn't have to get to Africa as soon as possible. There is no hurry.
Coldness and frost doesn't matter to her. The only important is to have enough food.
(By the way, that is the only reason why the storks go to Africa duing the winter).
In Southern Europe it stays warm for long time, so she will have food at least until
month of October or November in Europe.
greetings from Baska

Thank you Baska for explaining about the food and that temperature is not a major factor. I thought they would want to get to the south fast because of cold weather setting in.
I expressed myself poorly. What I meant was exactly what you wrote, the experience and the learning happens on the way, not at the destination.
I am happy they are traveling in a group.

Hi, LK forumers!
Yesterday, Dec 5, 2015, dabasdati.lv forumers met with ornitologists Māris Strazds and Jānis Ķuze.
While waiting for more data from Ziļuka Upene wintering places, DD forumers took the possibility to gain the latest information. Along with other issues the project "Black stork Zīle or Ozols equippment with a transmitter" was discussed. This would provide an excellent opportunity for both researchers and webcam observers to gain more information about black storks in general, and our favorite Zile and Ozols in particular. Besides it is very inspiring to be with ornitologists enthusiasts and help them implement nature conservation ideas. Transmitter costs, starting with ~ 2000 EUR.
