no, as far as I could hear Joosep didn't say anything about insects - although there are a few bits with not so clear sound on the video - and he didn't seem to worry much about them. But then, he probably knows it is no good trying to smash wasps & other nasty things, standing high up in a tree ...

Spot is enjoying lunch at 1145hrs. Didnt see the delivery and cannot tell what the dark black rodent is. (It is too early for me to be awake at 0430am here... :offtobed: ) Can hear some peeping from someone but am not sure if its spot,eha or another off nest

Spot is eating a prey and doing just as adult Lesser Spotted eagles do..keeps the prey unmoved with toes, ripes it, shaked it, eated it piece by piece.. At 14:54.

( Eha is off. At 14:02 I saw her leaving)

When the prey was finished at 15:09 Spot trained flying. At first the balance was disturbed by the wind.
