19:30 The stork was calling very loud, totally upset! Sometimes he is even crying!
I've never heard these sounds. Hopefully all is o.k. with him. Unfortunately it's dark now.

Last season I was left with the impression that such sounds are not so unusual for storks. But I´m no expert though.Michi wrote:19:30 The stork was calling very loud, totaly upset! Sometimes he is even crying!

Particularly little storklets amazed me with their voices.

Liiiiz, you are great !
You discovered the first BS on this nest, wonderful !
Finally, finally. I'm so happy !
Unfortunately I missed it, because I have been outside to enjoy the sunshine and our first mild day...
The stork is still here, I've just heard him calling.

Yes, I was totally baffled.Liz01 wrote:have you heard it when they was ringed
My resident cat absolutely hates storks because of their voices. She hates eagles and tawnies as well but not as much as storks. And well, yes, part of me understands her arguments

I think, one of the early screems has come from the tawny owl. It sounded as if she was catched by a predator and screamed for her life.
But maybe Abigyl is right and the stork has disturbed a Tawny Owl couples nesting place.
BTW I always love the sounds the Black Storks made, the adults and the young. But this, I think, was not usual.
Now all is quiet. Just now I've heard the Black Stork scratching itself.
