Mutikluti, you found some good pictures for comparison. Excellent! It looks like the same bird, to me.

Intersting...has Toomas now rings too? If stork cam will be repaired and Toomas come visit Stork nest, then we can recognize him.
I am sure that this stork who got transmitter, is Toomas. I am so glad! Now we have our acquaintance stork about whom we have compassion for winter days if he is so far from homeland.

The stork camera is "lõpetab" (what does that mean??)
http://www.looduskalender.ee/node/4636
maybe it means "off for the season" ???
I hope we will be able to see this nest again next year! (with stork family, please )

No wonder: camera was off for a long time, perhaps they decided not to fix it, 'cause none of storks visits the nest anymore. But I wonder if Toomas got a transmitter and where are the storks now.

Yes, Bociany, "lõpetab" is "ends", meaning off for the season
We will have to ask Kotkaklubi & Urmas to forward your wish for stork family to the storks - hopefully some are still around to take the message !

Liis, perhaps it will go better if the message is in Estonian, since the storks clearly did not pay attention to anything we said in English!Liis wrote: Translation http://www.looduskalender.ee/en/node/4637

... so we won´t be able to see them again this year...
But - also without a nesting - it has been very very nice to see Padis and Toomas (and other smaller visitors) in spring and early summer.
To me it was especially fascinating that Padis started preparing the nest although he did not even know IF Donna (or another female) would arrive at all. We humans would probably say: "Let´s wait and see if she comes. If not I didn´t do work that might be unnecessary in the end." There´s so much we all can learn from nature!!!
A big THANK YOU to all those who have made, are making and will make it possible to give us the opportunity to watch such great webcams!!
Next year there will hopefully be a successful nesting and we´ll meet here again.

Stork cam stopped by technical reasons, but we had no free time to check that (other works seemed to be more important). So decided to swich off.
Toomas left Estonia at 27th of July and was at afternoon 29th already in Northern Ukraine. So we can hope to see him in next spring. The migration and wintering data I'll try to make available, though the same was last year, but...
Padis visited trap during two days after trapping of Toomas, but nobody of trappers weren't there. By now are used all the transmitters (incl. "wife" of Raivo and their two storklets).

If the other new-tagged storks don't have names yet, they can also get the ones after "The Butterfly effect" main characters: Evan, Lennart and Kayleigh.

We have named these trapped storks, but as do not know exactly the sex of their - better to name after identifing...
But we tagged this year 7 storks, two juveniles and five adults (of these probably 3 females).
