Thank you, Juta, for the links! There are very interesting pictures about the nest area!
Is it really necessary to clean the feeding areas? Apparently it is ...
The volunteers have made definitely a very good (and hard!) job.

Good night!

I'm so happy that the rain has stopped and Karl's (?) feathers are dry. He is more active- preens from time to time, puts a twig from one place to another, looks around. :headroll:

Good Afternoon, Evening,

Thank you to everyone for your observations and posts. It is a great way for me to catch up on the storks' activities during the day.

Good evening,
I'm relieved that the rain finally has stopped and it is not so cold anymore. :-)

Here some pictures from Kati.
19:15 She is listening to a special sound ...

Hiding the beak in her beautiful feathers ...

Again listening and looking to something. She is such a beauty! :loveshower:

19:34 Kati rolled the eggs. She did it quite quickly. She got up, once only stretched her wings, rolled the eggs and sat down immediately.

Edit: I forgot, Kati has still taken time to go to the toilet. :)

Michi, they cleaned mostly creeks( or brooks?) from all kind of natural rubbish that water(with fishes) could flow freely and storks get food.

Thank you, Juta, for your answer! When I see some of the pictures again, I believe that cleaning the brooks is necessary. I couldn't imagine that. What a lot of work! :faint:

Karl was coming and going. I saw him bring moss, hay and a big branch. Kati helped to put them in right place.
The moss and hay she pulled closer to her. It's also cold weather?
