Stefan Brücher is on the nest - ringing day!?
And he is feeding the owlet with some food, but it is not yet convinced from this man ;) It does not want to swallow the food.

He says the owlet has the weight of a feather ..... "federleicht" in German

He still has more food, but the little one is not swallowing, Stefan Brücher is waiting patiently, he is snipping parts of a mouse (?) and offering to the owlet

Yes, I heard it too - probably in case Lotte and/or Leo will not be successful in hunting tonight he will be up again to feed it ... poor little owlet, even now that it is the only one to be fed it is starving ....

:hi:
The availability of food has to be dramatically low, when Stefan Brücher decided to feed the owlet. I expect that he will post an update

Yesterday and today the owlet screeched already in a quite desperate pitch and in the hours of my night recordings (but not complete nights) there were no or hardly any deliveries ....

Only it will not solve the problem. He may not ever come even now. Let's see what he writes.

Today in the morning at 05:39 Lotte came home without prey and looked pretty wet ...
She found and fed the two mice, that Stefan Brücher had left there, to the owlet immediately, it swallowed both whole :D

Next statement of Stefan Brücher:

Vorerst gerettet?
Dienstag, 24. Mai 2016

Vielleicht werden Sie also nochmals Futterlieferungen beobachten.

There was a feeding at 12:14, Lotte pulled prey out of the larder, maybe leftovers of the rabbit that Stefan Brücher mentions in his post (thank you, Riitta). I have not seen when it has come in, but I had a also a break in morning recordings.

There was some kind of disturbance, Lotte peeked around the corner and then flew out

Not long after this the stream stopped :(

Bea's video "Lotte feeds owlet": OMG - a feeding - great! :2thumbsup:
Hungry owlet graps greedily the morsels. It seems not amused, when Lotte finished the meal and puts the leftover of prey in the larder. :whistling:
