Dear friends, nature- and birdlovers,
the last months have been overwhelming...!
A new world - the world of the White tailed eagle (in Swedish Havsörn = See eagle = See adler (D)) has been opened to us.
Every possible minute we have been watching the live "show" - (Swedish state-TV reported about the live stream in mid-April) with all its ups, and more recently, the downs..:-(
Suddenly we were able to have a look into a new world...
Though, it took some weeks before we discovered the Forum, and since then we have been reading it each and every day, but this is our first posting.

Since we don´t know how much more there will be to see, after the nest-disintegration and the possible loss of Rahu, we´ll take the opportunity to thank everybody who made it possible: Renno Nellis and Eagle-Urmas Sellis, Omar Neiland & Triin, Mutikluti, Ame Ader, Jo UK and translator Liis- and not to forget ETS NORD godfather of the projekt (probably we´ve forgot someone).
And of course all you members of the forum, whom we shared all thoughts and ideas and pictures/films with. You added an extra dimension to the WTE-adventure - we have shared all your feelings - and there have been plenty of them.. We have had many good laughs reading, but also tears in our eyes sometimes..
THANK YOU all for your never-ending spirit and commitment!

About the technics: electronic equipment and rain & heat is not an ideal combination. With that in mind we should be thankful that it all is working so well.
And the sound is just excellent - we have birds singing indoors... ;-)) Particularly the Chiffchaff (Phylloscopus collybita) and the Nightingale (Luscinia luscinia). The first one more stubborn, and the last one just a wonderful virtuoso.

Now we visitors have an obligation (surely many of you already did..) and that is to give a financial support to Looduskalender, for securing more wonderful and real "adventures" in the future. See link:
http://www.looduskalender.ee/n/en/node/15

We are looking forward to what will happen next - a little calmer now when Rahu is heard...

P&B
Nature is often cruel and ruthless, but always with a purpose (hard to see sometimes though...).
But no way near the cruelty of humans..!

It was Uku, hard to see with the fog.

He left the fish to T. Few seconds later there was a sound of "touch down"

Another fish is gone and kids are crying

11.11
Anna (or Uku?) visited her/his eaglets with a fish, she/he sat for a while on the branch and then took off...with this fish.

The lost son is unfortunately alone under the nest tree! but it is probably easier for the him to eat down there.
If he is ok (without injury) it could work out.

Lots of screaming from Rahu on the left at 11:32:21 after an alarm call.
And now a car horn?

The sound volume seems to variate. Might Rahu just be shouting different directions, or is he flying/moving places.

I think the parent (that took off to the forest at 11:11 with a fish ) will be back with a half eaten fish any minute now... 8-)

Hi,
I am following all the comments pro and against eventual help to young eagles. I understand that the online tranmission from the eagles nest has been establish for academic purposes in order to have insight in natural behaviour of the wild eagles. I uderstand it and respect and the nervous reactions of some people surprise me. The nestlings have been given names and that makes them more like humans. Then for us it is not number 1 fell down out of the nest but Rachu and these are not number 2 and 3 who are starving because of the lack of skill of eating seating on a branch, but Nord and Tajbu. Well, if they stayed named by numbers in the academic programm it would not create such emotions.
Best regards

I do not think so. People get attached anyway.
If there were no "official" names some people would come out with their own names for the eaglets and the outcome would be the same.

Good morning everybody.
I can hear 3 hungry eaglets now. It's definitely Rahu somewhere. Again, today is louder than yesterday. I think he's moving from branch to branch.
