Birds do not have sweat glands. Panting is a sure sign birds are affected by heat. Panting increases the passage of air through the system, increases evaporation from the lungs and lowers temperature.

Could it be that eagles regulate their body temperature panting like dogs when the temperature is high, like today (26 celsius) ? :innocent:
I ve thought that star-o was asking about his screaming during flying and landing... :rotf:

Any proof for this allegation? There may exist some reptiles which may not need food for such long period. Birds, like all animals with warm blood can starve for some days, maybe a week even. But six weeks starvation is rather improbable, I would think.

Taibu got just a couple of bits. Then Nord grabbed the fish and dropped it after unsuccessful balancing. :slap:

Taibu is trying to nibble the bark because it tastes of fish but it is not tasty.
The sister and the brother are waiting for another falling fish.

Due to the warm weather-cooling system :D
Same way like dogs do it.
I think so too, very young ones, their warm weather-cooling systems are not ready (like adults have). (I have read somewhere?)

Of course I have no proof ! It's written in the wise book "Estonian birds of prey" !
Yes,it seems improbable, but I quote from book:
"Birds of prey at once can eat a very lot. Also they can starve very long time, for example WT eagle can starve one and half month,Black Kite almost month".
As we know, human can survive without food 30 days and without water only 3 days.Have not tried myself ,but probable it's true .

Now they are fighting, just awful. Was it Nord attacking Taibu who is sitting now with bended head away from him. (I am not sure about the names) After the big fish fell a storm came up.
Now 'm afraid what some of you predicted they would compete eachother.
No the fight goes on ... Nord is really attacking.... tried to reach the neck of Taibu and tore feathers out... no joke, scary!! ;-((

oooff and finally he flies away at 15.15

Poor Taibu really took a beating, not sure if it was from Rahu or Nord.
But she stood up to her bully brother and he had to take off.
Atta girl :loveshower:

Something was going on "downstairs" which got both eaglets nervous. It's hard to think the other eaglet would have been Nord - more likely it was Rahu, because Taibu was able to shoo him away... :puzzled:
