They are always here, but come in cam view now more often, as the owls are here only rarely.
Time before they better stayed out of sight - for safety reasons :D
They are so cute with that black glasses on their faces 8-) 8-)

And yes... I was sure that they are always here as an invisible part of habitat - but for safety reasons they prefer not to be caught on the same picture together with Lotte and the owlet what I can fully understand :D

Have you noticed that speed?

Speed of decay?

At 21:00 muskrat seemed to be as one piece covered in fur.
at 00:00 it looks completely different.

I dont think that it was done by 2 small rodents.

That s a pity that our owls did not come. They ve missed a lot of food.

The muskrat seems to be some kind of "alive" ..... probably maggots are responsible for this speedy decay .... Image

There must have been very high temperatures on the ledge, in some parts of the country we had around 30°C today and the ledge is in the full sun the whole day ....

But the dormice have their fun with it ..... I saw at least three of them

25. August

No visible sign of an Eagle Owl during the whole night, only the dormice had an all-night-long-dinner.

Today in the morning the muskrat suddenly seemed to have been moved to another place, but it was no raptor who had dragged it around, it "walked" by itself .... and slipped slowly further downward ...

This is a fast-forward recording, movement of the muskrat during nearly a whole hour

Thanks for your science-fiction video, Bea. Muskrat lives for the second time. :slap:

No Eagle Owl visit last night or in the early morning in the Pixtura archives.

The little bit of dried out and empty muskrat fur was blown away from the wind

Bea, your video shows, that the owlet does not need food supply any longer.
The last present of "The Angel" was blowing in the wind. :whistling:
That little one could grow up is the great merit of Stefan Brücher! Thanks a lot for all your efforts.

I am waiting for a visit of our owlet on the ledge... have a look here now and then, little one.

And finally I hope, that Lotte feels well and has survived her injury.

It was really a turbulent season.

Thanks Riitta, it is so nice to see our owlet on pictures while we miss it on online stream.
You encouraged me when I went to vacation that the owlet will be here when I ll come back, and I was really blessed from the first day after coming home and I could watched it. Although I did not know that those were (probably) the last days when the cutie came to the nest. There is still some hope...

Looking forward to your next collages... :loveshower:

Thanks Romy for this table. :2thumbsup:
I as a first season watcher can see how different seasons are and I am happy that this season was shifted and late if comparing with previous ones so I had a chance to watch this owl cuties.

Can you explain me what does "adoption" in 2013 mean? Thanks!

In 2013 Lotte laid no eggs. S.Brücher has set an orphaned owl in the nest, hoping, Lotte would take care of this owl. Unsuccessful. Here is a video with information about this adoption

Thanks romy  , for your detailed list of the past years.
The comparison of datas is interesting.

But we know, that each row contains the life of the Eagle-Owl-family with ups and downs.
And for the spectators by Cam the same happens: there are good times and bad ones.
And for all members of The EGE it is always hard work with days of joy and days of sorrow, with new life and dying.

Let's look forward to the next season... :bounce: :chick:
