there are a lot of jays in the forest around making a lot of voices. some of them have also visited the nest.
13:27

13:29 one of them came to have a close look at us.
knock-knock. - who's there?

this became a rather crowded post. sorry about that. :slap:
i felt that i 'had' squeeze all jays in one post.

hahaaa, now i know why the jays made such a racket! there was the sparrowhawk hunting again. 8-)
it was very difficult to get a decent snapshot of the sparrowhawk but there it is with its stripy tail on the right edge of the picture.
Image

a jay was chasing the hawk and made bad noise. a slow-motion close-up clip of the birds.

10:07 Shilute came with a stick. she went up to the branch.

Shilute had a looong and thorough preening session on the branch.
10:35 Vents came. i could not see if he had anything to bring, probably not.

10:39 Shilute left and Vents followed her.

the clips are taking time again... i'll add them later above.

the rain is getting thicker. i think it's changing to sleet.
Image

the weather forecast promises rainy weather for the next few days:
http://www.meteoprog.lv/en/weather/Liepaja/7days/
temperature will be slightly above zero, moderate Northerly winds and a lot of rain. that's not eagle weather.
2-week prognosis looks like this:
