## UPDATE ## 10:50am, 26th October
Report from rangers they saw juvie fly from saltmarsh to forest. It was probably SE17 because (based on previous young) that is the likely area he may frequent, but they weren't close enough to see a band. *A first year WBSE was seen on Sunday, so there is a small possibilty it had returned.

Today (10.27.) updates from the closed group of FB
...and here there is a video, but I think it can't see, because the group is closedSounds like SE17's begging food call earlier this evening. Please ignore picture quality, nothing to see anyway

yes, this is really strange - to have a closed group! They could change their settings at least when the little one disappeared from the cam ...Kinga83 wrote: but I think it can't see, because the group is closed

Lubaska and everybody, do you know anything new about SE17? Or can you give me a link where to read about it?
I have not watched full season of this nest because of time but after SE17 fell I started to follow their FB news. But the last update is only 26th Oct.

Hi Sue, the only news I got lately were those posted in their FB EagleCAM community as you did. And I usually check debate under social stream at ustream address (http://www.ustream.tv/seaeagles). People writing that they ve heard SE17 calls this morning, it means he is close to the nest tree but not visible...Sue wrote: Lubaska and everybody, do you know anything new about SE17? Good news from Stephen Davey member of FB group
and Judy Harringtonflash update. SE17 has been located in the reserve monday morning. Judy has seen him being bothered by the usual currawongs. he seems mobile, is where we left from last evening. was probably closer to nest 1 last night because that is where the parents went, much closer to nest 3 today. looks good
And pictures by JudyFound at last as Steve said. Sitting on a log, in a tangle of branches near nest 3. Swooped by currawongs and calling for a while. Currawongs left when he went quiet. Adults were overhead a few times, chased by ravens and currawongs. I did not see him fly, but he was definitely not there in that spot last night. I could see his band, though it was hard to photograph through the branches. Hard to sneak up on him!

Hello
From the FB page:
From the FB page:
https://www.facebook.com/Sea.EagleCAM/p ... 3995946583# GREAT NEWS # 12th December, 2016 - continued. Here are Cathy's pictures of SE17 flying and her accompanying narrative.
"At 11:10am I was walking with Judy near main lagoon, showing her where I thought I could hear SE17 calling from this morning.
Suddenly, he popped out of the trees about 15' away from us, catching us completely off-guard!
He flew towards the river, following Dad's usual flight path. We lost sight of him past the trees, but didn't think he would have flown over the river. Sure enough, when we got to the river, we could hear a currawong calling on the opposite side. A magpie flushed him out, and he showed us that he had indeed crossed the river!!
River roost is on that side of the river. Lady was soaring overhead at the time, & dad was just chillin' at RR. Where we last saw SE17 is not too far away from dad & lady. I'm sure they would know he is there - they would have seen him flying.
IMHO, I think he made it that far because he had absolutely no escorts for the first flight :) What a magnificent bird he is!"

FB: Another update from our lead researcher, Judy Harrington from this afternoon, Tuesday 13th December. "More great news. I was watching the adults on the river roost all day (extremely hot in Sydney). Mid afternoon I saw one flying overhead, circling and down to snatch prey from the river, then back to the roost. She (I think) then took off towards the saltmarsh. I crept in and saw the adult near where we found SE17 yesterday and there he was as well. First time we have seen one of the adults dropping off prey. Both took off strongly and the adults were both seen shortly after back on river roost. The great news is that SE17 can fly well, found his way back to a safe area and the adults are dropping off food."

Hi Sue, I am also very happy. We ve expected this news for a couple of weeks. He is free, he is wild, he survived, he is under supervision of the parents so they can feed him and he can fly high! Beautiful young eagle.Sue wrote: everybody, I am very happy to read this great news about SE17 and to see the beautiful photo .
Solo, Lubaska and Kinga83, thanks
I dont need necessarily to see him in the nest. One picture of him flying brings a lot of joy and satisfaction.
