13:46 this time i saw a jay coming to the left branch. it went up and is still there making voices.

it started a real concert on the tree.
it made some normal jay voices but also a lot imitations. i'm not sure if i recognized these right but i think i heard pieces which reminded me of a housemartin, a magpie, a startling, a song thrush, reed warbler and maybe a Blyth's reed warbler (or some other of these real song masters; i don't really know them). maybe it imitated also a nightingale. :puzzled:
i think that there were perhaps some eagle voices from the forest in the beginning. :puzzled:

16:59 a spotty-bottomed eagle flew in with a lot of flapping. it sounded almost like a wood pigeon.
does it have some food?

now a BW is calling, too.

17:01 the white-tailed male (?) came in, too.

the girl has food and the male tries to take it! what a gentleman! :rotf:
no way she is going to give it to him. he jumped to the branch.

it looked like a mammal's leg with hooves. maybe a boar leg?

the male flew away and the female is eating in the back of the nest, hiding her prey.

good morning!

there's no snow left and it's so misty that only the closest oaks can be seen. everything else is inside fog.

and thanks Abigyl for the observations! :2thumbsup:
i'll make a clip of them.
6:36 the male arrived first and the the girl with droopy wing. they look like the same birds as yesterday.
6:39 there was the mating attempt. it did not look successful, their cloaca did not meet. after that the girl went to the branch.

7:02 she came down to the nest and they did some nest work.
7:03 the male got up to the branch.
7:04 the girl jumped next to him.

i don't get the departure yet. the video file is not in the archive yet. :puzzled:

There are some good news...

Around 07:02 she came down from the branch and he did some small works with the greenery, he worked and she looked for kisses.

07:04 Both jumped up and were watching the foggy morning.

07:49 Back to the nest, some more works with greenery and small sticks, she is again with the kisses and pulling his chest feathers

And... surprise! he pulled a large branch and she helped a little. Nest looks nicer with a perfect bowl for some :bounce: ( )

07:53 They were hungry and flew away for a romantic breakfast at the lake

the clip is here:
7:48 the male jumped down and a little later the female. they worked a little... and the female reutrned to the nest.
7:53:05 the male flew away.
7:53:34 the female followed him.

10:45 an eagle flew to the tree top. the wings made a loud flap-flap-sound so it was probably the girl. her flight with the injured wing sounds like that.

10:49 the eagle flew away from the top of the nest tree.

10:52 onward loud calls which i think are black woodpeckers... or some bird of prey? :puzzled:
also a lot of little birds' voices, among them a skylark and great tit. - i think i have heard skylarks for at least a week now. :D

11:03 the male landed, followed closely by the female.
they start digging the nest side by side, beak to beak.

11:05 the male jumps to the left branch.

11:06 the girl joins him on the branch.
apparently she came too close: the male jumped to the nest branch.

to me they look like the same couple as earlier today and yesterday.

11:26 both came down to the nest.
a mating attempt but the girl didn't like it at all. she shook the male off her back. she clearly is not in the mood for love this morning.
