Sue and Anna, I agree with your opinions, that gender neutral names are easier to deal with. But It is also very restricting. Waiting for DNA results could be a long wait - so
If everyone agrees, we can do it that way - gender neutral names and voting fairly soon.
Is everyone happy with that?

The names we find are not recorded in a database?
So it does not matter, if they not fit with the gender?
gender neutral names and then still in Estonian ... then restricted to U and T ... that is too complicated for me. I don't speak estonia.

Liz, I am not Estonian, either.
We need an Estonian member to help us.

Juta - are you here?

I picked up gender neutral names which our members have suggested. Maybe i have missed some, correct and add, please!

Usin - diligent
Udu - fog
Uhke - proud
Uni - sleep
Uljas - hilarious, free and easy
Tuul - wind (very easy to change to girl name Tuuli)
Tali - dictionary gives many meanings, but I think here it comes from "talv" - winter, easy to change to boy name Talis

Uno - could also be interpreted as number one or first (although it would be more italian then:)
Toom - one possible word for bird cherry (in estonian actually "toomingas")

What about a bit of mythology.

"Mythical motifs in folklore
Some traces of the oldest authentic myths may have survived in runic songs. There is a song about the birth of the world – a bird lays three eggs and starts to lay out the nestlings – one becomes Sun, one becomes Moon and one becomes the Earth.
"

The names could remain - - regardless of gender

... neither "T" , nor "U"

I found some additional gender-neutral suggestions starting with T.
If needed.

I was thinking of:

Tark - clever, wise, smart
Tore - splendid, nice, gorgeous
Tiik - pond, lake
Taevas - sky, firmament

And one with Ü:
Üllas - noble, generous, precious, greathearted

:hi: I vote for: UDU, TALI, TUUL

I know it should be two "U" and one "T" but these three go well together by their meaning and sound well to me ... and also I could not find the second with "U" so suitable

Should we wait for Jo UK lists all the candidate name?
If so, I'll wait til the announcement of voting is made.
Looking forward!

Orinpix, you must be a mind reader!
I have come to try to clarify what is happening. Some members are still suggesting names, while others have already voted.
This is too confusing so let us start again.

First we shall have a list of names from which to choose.
Then we can begin the voting tomorrow. Voting will close on Saturday July 8th.at 10pm, 22.00 Estonian time.
The chosen names will be posted on Sunday July 9.
On Monday July 10 I shall go on holiday - to Estonia!

If you have already voted then, sorry, but you will need to do it again.

Hello all :hi: ,
my choice: Udu, Tali, Tuul (and for 709U I would give the name from T in this case).

I have not much time now and so thank you for all the documentation. But I cannot miss this voting.

EDIT: sorry, Jo UK, I will vote again then.
