The twig, that is hanging down in the nest, is in the way of the exercise sometimes.

08:17 - Mouse delivery from Betiņš, and Betiņa is close to the nest, because she started to call when he arrived. She is still calling at 08:21, so maybe Betiņš is still around, even if we can't see him. Fridis has not eaten the mouse, yet.

08:17 - The delivery
Image
08:24 - Fridis think it's time to eat when Betiņa stops calling.
Image

08:26 - Betiņa in the nest. She has brought more greenery, so it's time for housework and morning care.
08:30 - Betiņa jumped on the branch, and left.
08:31 - The sound of breaking branch, Betiņa is collecting more nest material.

Hello Deli :hi: (nice to see you here :-)
Today Fridis is 47 days old, he hatched on 8. June. It has been a while since I last observed LSE so I had to check with previous years. Latvian eaglet Marcis (Metra and Macho 2013) hatched one day later than Fridis, and he started to branch 3. August. Fridis will be 56 days old then, so in a week or so (it's of course a bit individual) s/he will perhapse start branching. It will be exciting to see

20:10 - Fridis is alone in the nest...
Image

20:11 - ...or not. Just when I wrote it, Betina arrived :D First on the branch, then in the nest.

20:16 - Talking about branching, Fridis is exercising. He also had quite a big jump from one side to the other in the nest

Betina was completely surrounded by the wings

10:24 - Betina arrived with a frog. Fridis had some food in the nest, so when Betina arrived, s/he desperately tried to swallow it. I can't see what it was, a thin bone? :puzzled:
Image

Image

10:28 - Betina is feeding Fridis.
10:33 - After the feeding of the frog, Betina grabs the thin bone and are eating a little herself, and a little for Fridis.

Hello Lussi,
thank you for your explanation!
Fridis is a very relaxed bird.
He stood under a drooping branch, and the twigs tickled his nose.

When I opened the cam last night at 01:00 I heard heavy wind and rain. Maybe they are drying up from that now.

Fridis is very lively this morning, doing heavy exercising, looking around him and outside the nest and watching 'his' mum attentively.
He is very cute :shake:
