23:09 The first stag with nice growing "velvet" antlers arrives, he is very cautious :innocent:
23:16 He ran away, why are they afraid of this hay ball :puzzled: , is some smell disturbing them

i observed similar: one stag alone at the feeding place in the night. He came from the left out of the forest. -- with this very special type of step -- 3,4,5 steps into the direction of the hayball, then 6 steps backwards. this procedere he repeated again and again until i got tired watching... i heard and saw nothing, so i thought he had the smell of something worrying.
may be he don' t wanted to be the first one, alone, to taste the new hay... (perhaps it was the same stag as tonight)

Biker  , yes, I observed the same as you, strange behavior, and now at 23:59 he still repeats it again and again, I think that there must be some disturbing smell. This hay ball is from yesterday, not new from today and there were also no stags last night
00:09 He is eating now

Why wrong? The cam is working, most of the hay ball is eaten by the stags, all is OK
