11:07 i think i heard the voice of a lesser whitethroat (Curruca curruca, former name Sylvia curruca) for the first time this spring.
it said twice tsk-tsk-tsk-tks... in a fast rhythm, like rattling dry peas in a metal box. in Finnish the name refers to dry peas: hernekerttu. herne is pea in Finnish and kerttu is a woman's name given to Sylvias in Finnish.
between the two lesser whitethroat's calls a chiffchaff sang.

and more in xenocanto: https://www.xeno-canto.org/species/Sylvia-curruca

11:46 Raimis was sleeping... and then he suddenly talked, in his sleep probably.

i'll be away most of the day.

18:18 Raimis flew by the nest from left to right and then around behind the nest.
then he landed on the left branch with a huuuge bunch of hay.
Image

Milda taked a lot to him...
18:19 she flew out. Raimis jumped to the nest and ... ooops! all the hay dropped overboard. he looked behind his back as if he had forgotten all about his cargo. :rotf:

21:19 Milda came home. Raimis got up and flew out.

22:09 moonlight beam over the nest. in the daytime a similar beam can be seen when the Sun is in a proper direction. tonight the Moon is becoming rather full.

April 28

good morning!

5:56 Raimis brought a stick. again Milda had a lot to talk to him. then she flew out. i think she landed on an oak in the meadow, this time directly in the back, on the left of the bunch of cones that are hanging on the poop branch. or maybe she continued.

yes, Milda landed on a tree there.
6:00:52 she flew away from theere to the left. Raimis watched her fly.

Milda didn't stay away for long
6:59 she returned with a stick. Raimis flew out to the oak which is at the end of the poop branch.

it was rather difficult to see it in this light. i took a snapshot of him when he took off from there to fly away. the right ellipse shows the position of the new parents' oak on the right and in the rectangle there an enlargement of that spot.
Image

i'm not quite sure where he flew this time, probably to the back very low above the ground.

i made a similar picture of the other parent's oak where Milda stayed for a while in the morning. it's on the left side of the bunch of cones that is hanging from the poop branch. one of the "needles" of the Christmas twig is hanging on the way so the view is not good at all. Milda is the blurry whitish spot in the middle of grey haze.

Good Morning :hi:

8:51:11 A swan flew past- very near the nest- on the right side.
Image

The swan circled around the nest :puzzled:

Thank you for your great work. :2thumbsup:
Unfortunately I have little time for the nests this year. It will be even less when the chicks are there. A

Good Morning !

Ame thanks for the larger pic. Because of the firt of the "thing" which is still seen it this area, it's hard to see them there.

I hope that after the trees will dress green - they'll move closer.

Lizzzz :hi: welcome back! I wasn't worried since I see you elsewhere from time to time

Ame, Milda is not only talking;

when she comes back for a change, she gives a kiss on R head. It's so cute.

I caught her few times doing it.

or did she give him a punch? it's so difficult to separate between eagle tenderness and eagle violence.
i believe it's tenderness but i read in the Est-WTEthread that someone was worried because Suvi is 'always so violent towards Sulev'. i believe she is kissing him. in human eyes it looks terrifying.

Milda was looking down carefully at something. "are there bugs in my bed?"
Image

she also pecked a few times and seemed to pick something out of the hay.
some trees are certainly getting green colour in the background and are becoming invisible.

The swan circled around the nest :puzzled:
the first swan flew by so close that Milda raised her back feathers. she was afraid that the swan might land or crash on her.
the first swan continued to the left and met another swan who flew from the left. they continued together over the pond and to the right.

15:19 Milda got up and waved her wings... then she dashed out.

i made also a clip of the eggs alone at home, because i wanted to hear if there was anything to hear.
i didn't hear anything.
https://youtu.be/iWs6BkOk0Vs

...after about a minute she returned with a crash. that was a strange trip to the outside. :puzzled:
https://youtu.be/64bhszitYbc

did she go to the toilet outside, the outhouse? maybe it was too windy for the toilet at the nest?

18:51 Raimis called.
https://youtu.be/m93iF3fDP_8

18:54 he got up an looked at the eggs.. then Milda came home and they talked a little. Raimis flew out and Milda rolled the eggs.

i don't know what to think about this... to me it seemed that both eggs have holes. :slap: :D
Milda rolled first the front egg...
Image

... and then the rear egg. .. no, i think this must be a straw or something in front of the egg. we already have one too early egg. we don't need two.
