Balistar, I'm happy too that there is life in the egg! I cross my fingers, that the little one manages it well to break the shell.balistar wrote: ↑May 1st, 2018, 6:27 pm That's exactly what I meant and thought: inside the egg still is life makes me happy.
Maybe the little one inside thought, when I don't make it here, I try at another part of the egg. Smart one
Now we can be curious how fast they hatch one after the other.....

For me, the stream stutters I hope the camera will not go offline
OK, they are rather short breaks. But long enough not to see everything!

I'm sorry, this is not the best picture from Sara, but the egg with the crack is halfway good to see. At the moment the cam stopped - for me - every now and then, and this pic was the only one I got.
18:12 The crack is getting bigger.

Liz, here it is the same. I think, it's not a problem of the cam. The last days I've noticed it every evening around 18:00. I guess, many people then started their computers and watch.
Hm .... maybe it's however a problem of transmission? Other cams do not have these breaks. Gemenc has it often, also in previous years.

Liz , this was such a great moment! I've never seen live how a storklet hatches.
This went so quickly! Fantastic to watch it! Really an awesome moment.

Woohoooo, that was faaaaaast. Welcome, little storklet
I do hope so much, that our Liz could have made a video from hatching....
because my connection to the live-stream doesn't work.

18:41 Sara was up and short before she sat down again, she stepped first on the neck of the little one, and then on the head! It looked as if she has done it with full weight.
18:43 She was up again for some seconds. Sara is not very carefully with her baby. She acts quite careless.
Edit:
18:45 Again a step on the head.
I wonder how the storklets will survive these treatments. This is nothing for my nerves.

I saw it too. It looks bad, but it is not. I've seen something like this, before on several nests. It doesn't seem hurt the little ones. They are tough!Michi wrote: ↑May 1st, 2018, 7:44 pm 18:41 Sara was up and short before she sat down again, she stepped first on the neck of the little one, and then on the head! I'm making a video when she is getting up settles back on eggs and chick several times . Once she stood for a long time on the head of the chick. Everything was fine in the end.
It takes a bit, I have to cut !
