Good day! :hi: A beautiful Blackbird visited the nest. Then he sang a little sweet in the microphone on the webcam. :D

They appreciate the nest. 8-)

Today, about 10:40 strange sounds were heard. I could not interpret her. Sound similar to starting a motorcycle. Or like a puff ... :puzzled: But that was not it. It went on for a few minutes.

It seems to be a busy region. Often you can also hear a train. .

:hi: Somewhere close to the nest is a military base. Information about this is on the first page. Every year the noise increases. :help: Can be excess noise does not allow the birds to safely learn this nest...

:hi:
After I saw what a storm fell upon Tija, I began to think about that the nest remained intact and unharmed.

16: 37. Today from time to time I hear the song WTE. Maybe he's looking at the nest site....because there will not be this season, his competitor, the osprey....

Yes, Hellem it is Estonian lady! Maybe Estonian ornithologists will look in their databases and determine the origin of this osprey.

I checked the archive and know what you mean with WtE-song .... but for my opinion it is not WtE, but Black Woodpecker (Dryocopus martius). I learned this, because it fooled me already several times

Song recording at xeno-canto https://www.xeno-canto.org/410093

Song record from 12:37 and 12:38 here in surrounding of the nest

:hi: Bea! Precisely! It's a black woodpecker. :innocent: Especially because a few times I could hear a woodpecker knocking on an tree trunk. I have noted that the loud sound it's a black woodpecker! :D

Great catch, Gavril!
This new female Osprey needs to meet up with the unringed male that was on the nest a few days ago! How can we play matchmaker? :help: :slap:
I can’t wait to find out more about the female.

Thanks for the videos, Bea and Gavril!

edit: 6 May, 22:40 my auto correct changed spelling of a word and I didn’t catch it before posting - sorry.
I was actually saying hi to mogga, because I saw that he was on the forum.

°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°

News about osprey MM :shake:

Ringed by Gunnar Sein, on 10.07.2015, in Karula National Park, only about 20 km away from camera nest here, as one of three osprets in the nest. During ringing no gender determined.

It seems to be the first observation of this bird after ringing :2thumbsup:

°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°

Always exciting to learn more about ringed birds, isn´t it? So she is maybe a first-time-returner this year ....

This nest and area seems to be more than attracting for Teenagers
