Good morning!
Yes! Loud and clear egg talk!
The little one sounds indeed like a little frog
Kwack. Kwack. Or maybe like a little duck?
It's difficult to see if there is already a crack, the nest bowl is deep and a branch is hiding part of the view.
12:15 Yes, Karl, we heard it too!
12:31 Kati arrived, Karl leaves
12:38 The chick has a lot to say
12:38 I saw a big crack. The chick is almost there!!!
12:45
12:59 thunder!
13:01 almost 2 separate egg parts!

The little stork will love thunderstorms in the future, as I ...
The world welcomes him with timpani and trumpets.

You're welcome, Liz!
Thanks for the video!
13:24
13:25 the egg is completely broken into small pieces
13:44-45 Kati turns the eggs, also the hatching one
13:57 Very loud claps of thunder, the storm must be very closeby
It is pouring.
14:10 - 35 The weather is still awful. Kati is getting soaked.

What a day for hatching! But at least rain is good for food.

Yes, it has been dry weather for a long time.
I hope the hatchling is staying dry and warm under Kati...
14:40 I heard it talking a little...
14:47 I believe this is the little head. Or something else sticking out.
(Unfortunately, the pic isn't sharp)

Sorry for the silly question, but what is the part between the beak and the eye that's swelling as she breathes? I've been following this camera for three years now, but I don't remember seeing that before. Even Google couldn't help me.

Hello, Lisbeth,
I see it too now... I do not know what it is. A vein? Airflow?
Someone, please?
15:06 The thunderstorm isn't over yet.
15:38:30 The hatchling is chirping again. It quacks. It is still not completely out of the egg.
15:51:15 A little help from Kati? She 'shakes' the egg a little.

comparable to sinus passages in humans??. The trachea in birds is much larger, breathing has a different principle.
(I'm not a specialist!)

16:11:56 Karl came home
16:12:32 Kati leaves
Karl cleans the nest bowl. The chick moves a lot. It is partly out of the shell, I think.
16:20-21 The chick is almost completely out of the egg!
Karl is sneezing(?) a lot.
