In this last feeding, baby ate very well.

Both crops are full and ready to fly to football games...

10:43 Robis was giving hard time to Milda again, trying to peck her in the face. Milda escaped to the left branch but it didn't help much. Robis continued biting her toes. :slap:
Milda jumped to the top branch. there Robis will not reach to her.

maybe Durbe was only wise in not coming back to the nest. maybe she saw in advance what kind of angel our Durbertina was becoming.

10:46 strong WE by Robis. then she purred like a cat.

10:47 Milda flew away.
https://youtu.be/kEk-8IE91ns

10:52 both made WE.

Ame, Both are fighting and beaking mom a lot in the last days.

I was thinking about this aggression against mom, the feeder.

In the past, some people tried to connect this behavior to the ringing; but here we can see that it must be their age.
The change in them, they want to eat alone like when dad left the fish the other day and they managed (not perfect, but they had something).

Where is Liz with her books??

11:55 Milda calls in forest.

then someone landed on the top on the left. eaglets are warning! a stranger?!?
Image

was it Milda after all who called in the forest? why is she not coming to protect the eaglets?
or does she see that they are doing a pretty good job themselves? :puzzled:

neither do i, not in the nest tree. someone flew by yesterday morning. or was it a day before that?

btw: Liz has the same books as i have.
i think that this aggression towards parents is a normal phase in the development of eaglets. it starts at about this age. Durberta was really awful. i think it has to be learning how to take care of oneself. they'll have to learn that in order to survive. they'll have to compete with other eagles to get food. that's what robbing food away from parents is and mantling food so that the siblings/other eagles can't steal it.

a funny particular that i have noticed is that Robis uses Vilnis and Milda as guinea pigs in learning how to pluck feathers off a bird.
she did that for several minutes a little earlier this 10:57 morning.
https://youtu.be/YIZ76rGXs2Y

11:58 the eaglets stared at the stranger and complained.
https://youtu.be/190vEZvFbuQ

12:04 it seems to become a stalemate situation: the intruder will not leave and the eaglets stopped complaining.

Vilnis even pooped! was that some sort of panic/stress relieve reaction? or plain indifference: "i don't mind you!" :whistling:

12:09 first Viln is. she's so cool.
https://youtu.be/0cVzHbMnoq0

12:10 both preened.
https://youtu.be/hlG6TTjzKU4

i'll have to go again for a while.
