Re: Questions

Post by Fleur »

For videos I use real player.
I look in there too along the stream LK pages.

in a normal screen, there is a bar right top ---> download this video
for full screen, double click on the screen

Image

if you click, it starts downloading the part you want.

stop when you want, click next to the current bar

Image

for setting the time, how long you want, see the example / hand

Image

the movie you can look back in the folder, real player downloads.
when looking back can use the button, playback speed to 16x speed -->see the arrow

Image

continued

I hope that someone can do something with.

if not, then I get the whole story away.

Here is a snip from the Fraps help page

How do I record a movie while running a game?

First select the target framerate for the movie, which indicates how many frames will be included in the movie each second. You can currently choose from 25, 30, 50 or 60 fps.

In the game press the Video Capture Hotkey (F9) when you want to start recording. While recording the frame rate counter will turn red. When you want to end your movie, press the button again to stop recording. You will now find the movie saved in your default folder.

What is the maximum resolution supported by Half/Full-size video capture?

The maximum resolution for full-size and half-size capture is currently 2560x1600.

Why is the AVI movie generated by Fraps so big? How can I reduce the size?

The filesize is big because there isn’t enough time to encode the movie while the game is running. The movie frames are slightly compressed, but still require a large amount of disk space due to the high resolutions. Once you have finished capturing you should convert the saved AVI into one of the popular compressed movie formats such as mpeg or divx. Recommended programs for doing this are tmpgenc (Tsunami Mpeg Encoder), and VirtualDub.

Using VirtualDub is quite easy. To create a compressed version of the AVI follow these steps:

* Start VirtualDub
* Select File->Open and choose the AVI in the Fraps directory you wish to compress.
* Select Video->Compression and choose the codec you wish to compress with (usually divx)
* Select File->Save As AVI and specify a filename for the new AVI.

If you have Windows XP you can also use Windows Movie Maker to compress the video files. If you use Windows Movie Maker it's recommended that you keep your Fraps video files at 800x600 or under.

Now I have set the size to "Half size". Let's see what bucket does with it.

Jo, in windows movie maker you can make the movie as long as you want, /Cut pieces break/ and save in a different format.
but it takes time to explain it all. / to translate.
I just have to find out

Oh, it has uploaded already!

Image

17 seconds long, and it is reasonable quality.

So, is Real player better, or Windows Movie maker? Seems like there are more useful functions to them.

I really do not know which one is better.
We always use real player
I think most of them have their own favorite.
:gathering:
I think it is a question which is faster or easier?

Jo worked well with fraps. :headroll:
It is certainly important how many kb / mb the movie is, if one wants here?

Fleur, I am very interested to learn what you do with the RealPlayer downloads.

I have saved many (many) clips using that method - but - in the past, anyway - the videos were saved in some odd format that I could not convert to anything usable. I can watch the video on my own computer, but cannot convert it. The only thing I can think to do is to re-record it, using another program like MediaCapture. So, please post the sequel!

ok, I'll try to write well.

You can do it with VirtualDub, as Jo wrote the above.
Unfortunately he does not to me, so I started looking for another free converter.

which I think you should really look, there are enough to convert rm file to avi.
I have ultra rm converter, but do not really remember where I've come to
I think here :puzzled: http://www.aone-soft.com/rmconverter.htm

before I forget, it converts approximately 50%, so you should take a little longer, or be satisfied with a shorter version. In any case, it's free

when I've converted the movies, then I put them in an album on youtube, and follow the tips that you gave to transfer to LK

Sometimes I edit the movies later with movie maker. With text, I cut pieces, etc.
I will explain that later in a separate story.

I don't know whether it's as good as it sounds (http://format-factory.en.softonic.com/) in all that it does but it can convert .rm to other formats. The filesize grows unpredictably though from only slightly to 2+ times (tested only with the highest quality setting). Attention is needed when installing to reject all unwanted extras like eBay shortcut or some toolbar.

I know, but I can not easily find another free version :puzzled:
so I edit it later with windows movie maker
