Hello osprey fans :hi:

Vote for osprets´ names for this season is opened!
https://www.looduskalender.ee/forum/vie ... f=56&t=941

I hope I found all suggestions and listed them in order they were posted.
The one or another suggestion was not fitting for osprets ring letters or sex, those I´ve left out.

Vote topic will stay open until Sunday midnight 23:59 (Estonian time = camera time stamp time)

Happy voting!

21:09 The fish is gone, Irma swallowed the fish tail
21:14 Irma flew to the dead tree

Since 13:53 7 fishes from Ivo, I don't know how many fishes he brought earlier 8-)

I just looked (22:39). Everything's ok.
Sometimes they just don't move and you rarely can see them breathing.

Yesterday Irma and Ivo's family made it into the childrens' section of our local newspaper. I don't know whether it's ok to post this here, if not, can a mod please remove my scan of the newspaper section? Source: Suedkurier, Friday, 13th of July, 2018:

Edit: removed nonfunctional link

I hope this shows up.
The text says something about the ringing procedure.

...well obviously it doesn't work. I'll try finding the online version of the article instead and linking that.

...that also doesn't work.

How do I show you a scan of the newspaper page?

Good morning!

Short info about another current "event" at an Estonian nest .... it is planned that Black Storklets shall get their rings and transmitters (backpacks) today around 10 a.m. - so it can happen any moment now.
Eaglemen only have to wait until parent birds are far away from the nest.

Storklets will be taken down from the nest, as it is too complicated to equip them with transmitters high up on the nest.

It should work same way like posting a picture - you have to upload the scan to your photohost and then link it here.
