good morning!
so there was a fish but no kids. has anyone heard them at all?
the eaglets apparently can't see or hear Raimis. if they did they would scream.

it seemed that he had no idea where they were. so he came to the place where he thought it's best to look for them: the nest.the kids are being silent so that even Raimis can't hear them.

When I think of how early Vilnis used to scream when Raimis or Milda came, you could say,
if one of the boys or Milda had been around, I'm sure you would have heard something.

7:29 Raimis came with the fish. he listened .... and looked around. no voices.
this time he waited a little before he started to eat.
7:41 Raimis finished eating. then he made some nestoration. he managed to drop a stick.
then he went tothe left branch and cleaned his beak.
7:47 he flew out into the mist. no voices from the kids at any time.

could the eaglets still be a bit scared because Janis was there yesterday and keep quiet because of that?

these were wood pigeons (Columba palumbus) like Biker wrote. they are very common in this forest as well as elsewhere.hernameta wrote: ↑July 13th, 2018, 10:48 pm 3 birds were flying at 21:00:51. who can recognize by silhouette?

there were actually four of them. they landed on the top, at least 3 of them.

7:24 this morning one wood pigeon flew by.
https://youtu.be/FhdmCYbFKFM
one of them came to the poop branch while i was writing this.
it landed near the tip of the branch and then moved closer to the trunk.
note: this is a combination of two pictures. there's only one bird.
it is a young bird. it hasn't got the white spot on the neck.
the wood pigeon decided to stay.
9:42 the pigeon is still here.

I could no longer come to the forum, so only now my answer.
If Vinlis had been sitting in the tree, he might have stayed quiet yesterday.
Today he would have screamed when Raimis was approaching.
9.07-9.08 Birds above the camera. They could be pigeons.
9.09.30 again flapping wings above the camera.

I checked 2015 when Angelina also flew out by accident on July 4th; as we all remember, she jumped from nest to poop branch which is not strong.
She fall but was able to start a real flight, in the direction of parents tree and the forest.
She came back to the nest on July 5th.
Let's hope Robis can already read by now and she'll come back today
Baby's situation is different, reminds me of the Big Bear eaglet STORMY fall down before time (26/4), who learned to fly on a lower branch and came back to the nest after a while (5/5).
There we were able to see photos of him on the branch from time to time so it made waiting
a little easier
Let's hope that our baby will need less time and will be back to us soon

Bad news for one = Best news for the others
Early in the morning, there were already some birdies on the nest and now a pigeon
rented the poop branch
Even in a thick fog, news are running very fast in the forest

i've been thinking that maybe the kids have the same shyness gene which Milda seems to have. they maybe be extremely cautious to human disturbance. we saw and heard almost nothing but something kept Milda away. it must have been humans somewhere out of our sight but not hers.
now the kids may stay silent for a long time.
who knows...
9:07 wood pigeons.
https://youtu.be/SsP7bgj3h48
9:09 sounds of their wings. the wings make a characteristic whistling sound.

the pidge has nice feathers
what a dramatic nest this is! i really hope the eaglets are okay - it seems fairly likely they are just keeping quiet, as ame says. surely there'd have been some signs if anything had gone wrong...

9:27 the young wood pigeon flew to the poop branch.
not an eagle anyway.
https://youtu.be/HJuOHtz8oXY
10:17 'our' wood pigeon preened.
10:31 the wood pigeon flew away after staying over an hour on the poop branch.

this was a strange voice, loud but came from 'round the corner'. a woodpecker?
not an eagle anyway.

Excuse the misinformation.
Of course you hear screams on the video from ame. Thank you
I only heard rustling and then saw Raimis in the nest, before that there must have been such an interruption in the line.

i sometimes have difficulties to follow the conversations here, i don't know if its a translation-thing or somewhat else.
therefore i have a question: Vilnis and Robis weren't heard since they are fallen/flown out - nor Milda?
a hungry Robis and also Vilnis would not be mute so long even if they were very scared because of the human visit?
so they are currently certainley further away?
Milda may be really so scared and therefore stays away?
*Please don't feed the trolls!*

Biker and others, what I remember is that Milda was long time away already much before the time point when Janis went to check Vilnis. I've not time to examine now, but I remember that Milda has not been on nest half a day plus night before human's visit there down. I tend not to believe the eagles would be that much afraid... All this is a mystery for us, yes. How can the kids be that silent?
