The nest is now completely destroyed

Kaupo comes to the nest for food delivery. Nowhere to stand for him. He slipped off and destroyed part of the nest.

I will not see any significant development. :puzzled:
It is too early for them. They have never stayed away from the nest for a long time.

dangerous and bad for all  I hope nothing bad will happen and the storklets will be able to find food (now maybe with parents help - the good areas for searching, etc.)

That was far less food, than in the last days. Both parents are still here. That is interesting. It's also interesting, if the nest can be repaired by the storks. I don't think so :puzzled:

Storklets are preening themselves. Activities in the afternoon.
A Supper would be nice

Liz, I am optimistic - Tóbiás also repaired the very damaged nest. Good place (food availability) is very important. Probably repairing is not so hard - new nest building is maybe more difficult.

I hope so! Otherwise M.S. and and his colleagues /volunteers could build a platform underneath. That would stabilize everything, so that a ringing could take place without great risk for the storklets . I really regret that they are indistinguishable.
Of course, I notice differences in behavior and also a few external features are different. But it is not attributable.

No wonder the nest could not withstand jumping of 4 well-fed storklets :headroll: But is is a pity - so nice large nest. Fortunately it has not been destroyed before  . Now all of them can fly and Kaupo and Gaja are really so amazing and intelligent parents that they managed to feed them even in this situation. And perhaps feeding will be moved also to another place now.

Liz, thanks a lot for your interesting documenting and sharing info with us :2thumbsup: .

Michi, wellcome back (I am sorry for your loss) and thanks for your evening pictures.

Hello all together,
unfortunately there is nothing to report about - no one is at home.

It‘s really a pity that the nest breaks away now. But the family and we all can be lucky, that it has happened only now. All storklets are able to fly well.
I hope the parents will choose another place for food deliveries, so that every storklet gets the same chance to get its share. At nest it‘s now indeed quite difficult.
Unfortunately we wouldn‘t be able to follow them to a new feeding place. 8-) But that‘s our watchers life. :D
Maybe the situation leads thereto, that the storklets learn quicker to fish by themselves.

Thank you very much all for your kind words.

Good evening to all!

20:12 All four young beauties were still on the nest.

The first storklet left at 20:22, and came again back at 20:23  with greetings from the other.
The second flew away at 20:23.
20:26 Two siblings followed within only some seconds.
20:27 Finally the last one took off.
