Solo wrote: August 7th, 2018, 7:42 pm Liz, I am optimistic - Tóbiás also repaired the very damaged nest. Good place (food availability) is very important. Probably repairing is not so hard - new nest building is maybe more difficult.
M.S.....Nest - this year they won't do anything since it makes no sense. It has been fallen down before this year at least twice - and has been restored in the same place. After winter nothing may remain there - if support branch remains, they might rebuild it within a few days. May not. This is actually very interesting document to see how it happens - as it has happened repeatedly in other nests too - exactly around the time of departure and in some cases has caused departure. It is obviously a good indicator of poor nest site (location in tree) wich in turn is indication of lack of good sites altogether.

I wanted to do a bike ride, it's so hot that you think a hairdryer blows in your face. I broke off the tour and bought some ice cream  today will be 39 degree

12:44 Storklets are still at home.. waiting for food.. or resting at a safe place
I am so sorry for them because they lost their nest prematurely. I think they would stay another week.

OT:
Solo, This heat is not normal. That never happened in Berlin. Add to that the great dryness. I'm scared to see how my storks are doing.
The animals in the pasture have no food left. Everything is dry. The winter food is already being fed .. where should this end?

13:22 Gaja has brought food. Extreme feeding again :slap:
One of them got nothing. It was blocked again by a sibling. It flew away as soon as it was free.
