The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

TY for sharing, Chimega!
I'm really happy that the season is over there. Good to know, that the last chick is fledged...

Belwood Lake

Luther brought a fish some minutes ago. Both chicks grown very well.

At this time Sera is eating.

...and busy Dad brings the next one.

But he flew again away with his fish, so both chicks must actually share Moms fish. :D

Belwood Lake, Ontario, Canada

I read the news about Belwood Lake Ospreys from Hog Island, I don't want Birdfriend to worry about it.

B00 fell/fledged by accident in the morning at 8/5, and was moved from the ground to a branch about six feet off the ground at about 7:20pm. it seems that Sera was on the nest with the lone chick in the night.

PGinSoCal:
One of the chicks went overboard this morning. It's always really windy there and it's sibling was really close to it and it fell over the side. The poor thing was still holding on to the rails but eventually let go and flew off.

Riv: (Mod in Boulder County)
There is someone coordinating with a Canadian raptor group. B00 was moved from the ground to a 6-foot-from the ground branch at about 7:20pm. More assessment will be done in the morning.
A branch off the ground is better than on the ground. Returning the chick to the nest isn't an option since it could endanger the sibling (by forcing a fledge).

Thank you, seira for your update about the Belwood nest.
I opened the cam and was worried because only one chick was there. Then I thought it is possible, that one chick could be fledged. Later I saw your comment... :slap:
I have no new infos, found nothing at their fb page. Do you know, if the chick is injured?

Birdfriend,
Sorry, I don't know and didn't find any information about B00...
I guess that because it is close to the fledge time, it is probably hoped that B00 can fly again from the current position and then fly back to the nest.

only found this

Belwood Lake Osprey 5 Aug 2018_ B00's fledge and aftermath by Osp
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rh_ktbhh5-8

someone answered :
The chick is safe. It was put in a tree 6 ft up so the mother can still feed it. Safe for now but check with Belwood Lake Osprey Cam Group on Face Book for updates, You will have to join group but they are a caring group.

Belwood Lake

Luther with an half eaten big fish for Sera and one chick.
Image

Suddenly Luther and Sera left the nest, most likely because an intruder is nearby.
Image

Sera comes again back and takes the fish, but calls further alarm.

So, happy times are back here again :D .
Thank you, Birdfriend and Seira, for your reports  !
I've been following this with intrest although not so often comment.
This year has been lucky - e.g. no danger of owls ! It was exciting. Ofcource the point is that the children now had two parents, last year only one, great Luther.
- When I right now look there, a parent is serving fish to the other baby, the other one just standing contented. All is fine.

One chick is at home, I have also seen Mom with him before. The nest was empty for some hours, so all three guys are fledged there.
Image

...just now the second and Mom are back, they call for fish.

The first youngster is fledged. He/ she came back after Mom to the support.
Image

I scrolled back and saw only two chicks at the nest, both ate their own fishes. Dad is a good provider.
