It is possible that Jaak got stuck in some fish net or something like that. Other ways it is difficult to open the ring (plastic is really strong). But ring could be partly broken, that can explain one free finger there.
Trapping of juvenile is very difficult, if it flies already. Can't imagine that.
He should get rid of the ring! Fingers are not injured of the ring, because it holds its open diameter, not closing more as 17mm (Ospreys size). Anyway, it is strange case, we probably can't know the reality happened before..

I really don't know how the ring could slip down.
This must be extremely seldom. The ankle above the 3 talons is thicker than the leg and the 3 talons prevent slipping down because they are even thicker together.
There must have been an influence from the outside and the ring must have opened a little.

Thanks Urmas for your reply...I have supposed, that the trapping from fledged juvenile is very heavy.
I hope, that he can rid himself from this thing.

At 20:27 Jaak got a fish from Ivo. At first it looked like he can't eat the fish, it looked very difficult for him now. But after a few minutes he had found a way to deal with the situation.

Just looking at this episode, mogga. It was so difficult for Jaak to grab and eat the fish.. especially at the beginning. He is in a very bad situation now, he can't really compete with the siblings (he is not fast in grabbing the fish), he can't hold fish properly not to talk about fishing it.

It's a bit hard to accept that nothing can be done.. Irma& Ilmar were also captured as adults. It's also hard to imagine the ring could just fall off from itself. Plastic is very strong, as Urmas said..
In either way, this is a clear case where human intervention has gone wrong. And very sad to see Jaak this way.

If the ring has been pressed down by external force, then it will probably not solve by itself if he has jammed between the two claws .. That would be fatal .. One should consider what there are still possibilities for to help the Eagle quickly

Jaak made no attempt to take the fish. Heli came to the nest and took the fish.
The ring is still on his claws.

yes, it is a great handicap for Jaak, doubtless.
I am not sure about the ring. I think it can skid further. There is not much force neccessary. If it's 2-3 mm lower, the situation becomes much more promising and the ring can skid completely off.
