As you know. Jaak's plastic Id ring slipped down from his leg capturing two fingers of his claw.

Possibly the plastic ring may drop off by itself, but maybe not. But if not methods should be considered now to capture Jaak so that the ring may be removed or replaced.

From a quick google I found the power snares may be used to capture ospreys.

Only for your consideration. I am not an expert on capturing raptors. Ideally an expert would be contacted.

Note:
The method of using power snares as described in the paper seems ideally suited to capturing Jaak in the nest. I can't force anybody to consider it but we will all be very sad if Jaak dies.

Thank you for your research about trapping raptors. In 2013 forum member Jürgen (and member of Estonian Kotkaklubi) made a documentation about a try to catch an adult osprey:

Adults can only be caught in certain time, when they have a nest/territory with nestlings that they defend. Juveniles can be equipped with rings in the nest only as long as they have not yet flegded.

Irma´s complaints have been heard - a headless fish (Bream?) was delivered.
As Ivo had already his share from this fish (headless), Irma must have been seen him eating in a tree and for that she was probably already hollering so long

I'm glad to read that Jaak got a fish. I scrolled back and saw, that he was able to handle and could eat it faster than yesterday evening, although Heli was blocking the view. I took some pics.

I think it looks much better! the ring is only on one claw! Bea or someone else who knows should take a look. I'm not good in that.
