As many have correctly guessed, Mrs G and Aran have two female chicks and a male on the nest this year. At the ringing on Monday evening of this week, the two females weighed well above the 1500g maximum of the scale and the male came in at 1460g. It seems Aran’s persistent and reliable fishing this year has ensured that two of his chicks are, quite literally, off the scale.

Thursday · Here is a video of yesterday's events. There was a lot of intruding activity while KS1 was on perch which had her in a bit of a flap, even Mrs G herself nearly bumped into her! Attempting to play dead on the perch wasn't easy but she slowly made her way back to the nest to join her siblings.

With newfound confidence, KS1 spent most of the night back on the perch and has successfully fledged for the first time at 6am this morning!

KS3 seemed surprised when Aran told her that she would have to catch her own Christmas dinner.

There were no sightings of KS2 yesterday, but KS3 once again made an excursion to Pont Croesor during
the afternoon and she was spotted heading towards the estuary before returning to the Glaslyn nest site.
Our guess was that she was trying to find out why Aran was taking so long to provide her lunch.
