Of course the people hope that it will come true, but they have also doubts about it.

Edit: Or is it only my own thinking? :puzzled:
OK

See you tomorrow, Michi!

Solo, yes, I remember it - a little. :D I'd almost forgotten it.
Autumn 2015 - these were very intense times  . This webpage I've used for current/new pictures of Fejas position in the Sahara.
Some of the forum members involved at that time are also present today, - you, Liz, Baska, Sova ... :D We've experienced bitter and also happier times together.

Thank you for the last informations!

Is that normal that Karula has flown only a kilometer? She's looking for food, she has to fly more than a kilometer, does not she? :puzzled:

Hello, Sova.

Karula moved indeed very little. :puzzled:
It is about + 600 m, if I estimated it well.

A picture of the last position on 15.10 (= last data on 15.10)
Baska wrote on 15.10, about this location: "Karula can't have slept here ??? Perhaps... if this is a field with apple trees..."
Image

First data on 16.10 (as received in the birdmap on 17.10, in the morning??)

Anne :hi:

Karula had on 15.10. - 3 messages. In this orchard (fruit trees) was the last message. But that would mean then, Karula did not move yesterday at all . Is the data really from 16.10. ? :D

Sova, I don't know, but these are the last data from 16.10 that we received.
I really hope that, in reality, Karula is much further by now...
Could it be that yesterday he has been out of GSM coverage, somewhere in Syria?

Sova, that area is not orchard (fruit trees) - see https://goo.gl/maps/yVtXYLLawsj or by Anne here https://www.looduskalender.ee/forum/vie ... 54#p618754

more storks have in that area less or much big pause in data sending (e.g. Eedi 17.9. - 19.09., ...)

in the area they are trees, but not apple very probably - storks sleep some times also in wet areas on the field and much another places

also here we see trees (by Anne https://www.looduskalender.ee/forum/vie ... 54#p618754)

Thanks, Solo.

This is what I was hoping.
Probably the GSM coverage in that area is not perfect
Respectively 6 and 12 hours after these morning data, Karula probably travelled a long distance.

Karula was (at his last known position) only about 27 km away from the Syrian border.
