Urmas Lett has made a video of the visit of the ringed eagle E148 two days ago.
it seems that the eagle was not alone. some other eagle flew by. in the end the eagle looked at the camera, startled and flew away. Eagle-Urmas is worried about this behaviour. :slap:

He first flew a loop, then came to nest and over her flew another eagle.
Ringed Eagle just looked ... I think they belong together.

And he is known to be afraid of the camera: in Urmas Lett 's other video from the same eagle is the same behaviour to see (2018-02-21 7:43:37). he "discovered" the camera and fled.

Hi Ame! Worried - in a sense of could the camera lens scare off potential nest inhabitants for the upcoming season?

yes Crissy, i think 'worried' in this sense. it's a shame that Urmas didn't take a picture of the camera this time, but i think he has taken some pictures previously. the camera is not big and this time Urmas made a special hide for it. anyway, the contraption probably looks alien on the tree trunk. he has pointed out several times that WTEs are suspicious nearly to the extent of paranoia about strange things. :slap:

it is not a big problem if strange eagles fly away because of the camera. i hope (and also Urmas, probably!) that Sulev is such a hardened old-timer with cameras that he will not mind it. we remember how he persuaded Suvi to accept the camera last spring. :D

the new camouflage, with bark could have been less worrying for that eagle - but he he still does not like it. he noticed it: camera with bark is not a tree trunk...
