EEDI new data :loveshower: :loveshower: :loveshower:
he is back in "his" Bisha valley area (wadi Tarj - Tarj Dam, wadi Bisha - King Fahad Dam, ...)

previous data
Last data: 16.10. 2018, Distance: 6913 km (https://www.looduskalender.ee/forum/vie ... 32#p618832)
new data
Last data: 25.11.2018, Distance: 7818 km (plus 905km - 40 day, +22km/day)

Eedi is back after month (? - we know not the departure date from Tendaha dam area, resp. arrival to this old-new area south from King Fahad Dam) and cca 1400 km, he was probably very long time here in his old area (see the new black lines)

from that dam flew Eedi little to south-west and back do dam and to his valley with stream (wadi) Tarj and stream (wadi) Bishah - direction north-west

(he was in that area after his arrival from Europe - the southernmost path, here - also photos: https://www.looduskalender.ee/forum/vie ... 26#p616526 and from that area he flew to Khamis Mushait/Tendha Dam on Sept. 29 https://i.postimg.cc/J46M8vBK/E-sit-o.jpg - more here: https://www.looduskalender.ee/forum/vie ... 98#p616598)

We see Eedi on desert maps, dry and yellow. But I'm sure that there are water in the Dams lakes and wadis, like always.

About 2 weeks ago there was heavy floods in the Jordanian desert, with many casualties.
https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2018/11/ ... 04195.html

I see now that in saudi arabia there were heavy rains mid-November and even this week is and will be very stormy.

Our big boy will have enough food there. I hope he is with his good old friends and have a good time

thank you Abigyl very much :2thumbsup:
yes, on map it seems so dry, but I put here photos with nice green time (that months) and also here we can see the nice green areas (Al Namas area) https://english.alarabiya.net/en/variet ... tory-.html

the 'Asir Region (where our Eedi wintering) is situated on a high plateau that receives more rainfall than the rest of the country ... the average annual rainfall in the highlands probably ranges from 300 to 500 millimetres (12 to 20 in) falling in two rainy seasons ... there is much more natural vegetation in 'Asir than in any other part of Saudi Arabia (wiki)

Edit: now it is not good for people in KSA

Abigyl  , thank you

...He said the Kingdom has never received such heavy rains in the month of November. “It could be considered the wettest November in the country’s history,” Almazroui said....

It sounds a quite dangerously...

Hello together,
Solo, your picture from King Fahd dam is really beautiful. I remember well that Eedi was also there in previous years. But at this dam he didn’t spent much time. Not earlier, not now. All these water reservoirs are not suitable for storks for fishing, I believe. There's no shallow bank for them to go into the water. Only steep concrete walls. I always hope, the storks know the danger.

I'm still relieved and happy, that Eedi is alive! :D

:hi: Michi, yes and no.
1/ his basic fishing areas are "wadi" (river, stream) Bishah and Tarj and their tributaries
2/ dam, water reservoir(s) area(s)
2a - food searching in the dam area north: no, it is not good place for searching for food: shallow bank is only in very dry time (they are photos also with very low water level)
2b - food searching in the "border", edge (tongue) areas these dams: yes, here he can fishing and do it also now and also previous years :headroll:
What do you think about this my ideas?
