10:41 cam time
E12 bites E13, not nice. Before H gave E12 a little head push without intention, maybe that was the occasion for the aggression towards E13.

Harriet feeds E12 with some leftovers.

It didn't look like remains - I would have been happy to get such cleaned meat on my grill - M15 made a bargain

Harriet is feeding E13 alone, E12 is at the rails
EDIT: also E13 joins the sibling at the rail

......
Birdfriend, you may be very right, i saw a scene exactly like this a few days before and had the same assumption. Thanks for mentioning and pictures.

I have often found that E12 immediately goes into aggressive defense when only touched, if by a parent or by E13, while E13 -Harriet has already pushed E13 too without intention- takes the defensive submission pose.

It is very nice that those beetles don't touch or harm the birds - only their food remainings :whistling:

E12 bites two times on E13 head, without any reason what I could notice.

10:45 The feeding is over, both Es have huge crops.

It's midnight and I come with great interest and curiousness
to see Your wondrous repots from 9th Jan
and I shout: THAN YOU SO MUCH !
Pictures of Liz01, Birdfriend, Owlie, are so cute.
Just maybe I don't think the picture link that Owlie last
forwarded is - so cute

:gathering:

Right now on the nest Parent feeds kids tearing bites from
some mammal, not squirrel, not rabbit... something else.
So all is well at 5.30 p.m. cam time :D .

- I later come to add that it was raccoon for dinner !
