Kantara Bridge:
The bridge over Nahal Harod carries an aqueduct that formerly brought water from Nahal Amal to areas north of Nahal Harod. The bridge, which was built in the Mamluk period, originally had three arches.
The water in the aqueduct may have been intended for Al-Khan al-Ahmar (“the red caravanserai”) at the entrance to Beit Shean. One of arches of the bridge collapsed and was repaired with concrete during the period of the British Mandate. The River Administration has restored the bridge since, and this site, beside which KKL-JNF has created an active recreation area that includes children’s play equipment and picnic tables, lies at a crossroads where four paths intersect

Hello Solo and everyone,
thank you very much for the links! I remember well this nice looking prey.
Baska said "Igitt" to it. :rotf: I admit it did not look appetizing. But it was only a poor captured eel, as Baska :hi: found out.
Thanks to your links I was lost in the Gemenc history for the last two hours. :-)

Thanks a lot to all for all the updates, pictures, tracker maps and the summaries! :2thumbsup: It looks as if our young storks are fine.

Solo, btw: I know that the youngsters do not fly to the place where they were born. But I have a feeling, that at least Maru will stay longer at her current area than necessary. I hope she will not, but I'm afraid, she might not have the bravery to explore new regions.
I'd love to be wrong here.

Good night everyone!

It seems to me that Maru has problems. Maru walked much in last days and flew rarely. Nevertheless, flew for overnight in evening 24th and next morning 4km NE to the channel. After that only walking or stops and finally yesterday around noon Maru stays in the open field 140 m N of sewage (probably) bonds. As transmitter temperature fall for night 25th lower as usually, it indicates death of the bird, unfortunately. The same show acelerometer values - no movement.
Will search for somebody who can check the place on field as quickly as possible. If you have any idea, who may be able to check the place, please let me know! Would be useful to understand reason of perish. Could be physical damage, also contamination of sewage or channels, etc.
New data will be in one hour, as scheduled.
