Ouh - what a night :loveshower:

22:34
Leo came flying in close to the traditional nest place, hooted to Lotte (can be heard somewhere in vicinity), changed to 2016 nest place at 22:40. He hooted again and left the place at 22:45, direction traditional nest place. But he stayed out of cam view. Leo and Lotte called to each other and at 22:46:24 on can hear them mating again :loveshower:

First there is Leo´s staccato *hu-hu-hu-hu-hu* and then the high pitched squeaking sounds of copulation call again.

22:46 (mating)

Leo was at the 2017 nest place from 18:15 to 18:37

After he left there, he flew over to the 2016 nest place

He continuously ignores the traditional nest bowl

Cam operator checked possible nest places several times today, focus on 2016 and 2017 nest place.

Looks a bit like no one there takes seriously in account that they would chose the traditional nest place

Yesterday (Monday) I didn´t hear or see our owls.

22. February

Yesterday evening, 21. February, 22:52, mating sounds could be heard again. Cam operator tried to catch Leo and Lotte, but our couple is very good in staying undiscovered :D

I saw him also, but the nests were not visited. Maybe Leo found another place again?
He is so creative

I found this YT channel ( https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvJ2na ... LBA/videos ) with owl voices. Eagle owl is very well recorded, but I do not agree with all the descriptions, for example No 6 should be " Owlets begging for food" and No 5 " Female calling for prey" What do you think?

To some descriptions I can agree, but others are not quite like we have already heard in similar situations here at this cam ....

I suppose the recordings are also edited and/or "filtered" with some software ...

I think I saw one of our Eagle owls making some fly-bys along the ledge and close to the opposite ridge - and his/her appearance caused some protest among other birds (buzzard? magpie?)
