apples don't fall far from the parent apple tree.

it is raining. i think it is mostly water although is see some white spots falling as well. water drops are dripping from branches. nothing white has is on the nest.
Liz must have had a good party yesterday.

the swans were so funny. they flew around singing for minutes, first out of sight. at 11:01 the flew into camera view and flew around three times back and forth.
i think that the bird at 11:10 was a wood pigeon. its wing made the whistling sound.
11:10:39 another bird flew to the same oak and landed on the left side of the first bird. i think it was another wood pigeon. they called in the tree (or one of them)...
11:11:07 the first pigeon flew away. my recording froze and i don't know when the second bird left.

11:40 Raimis went to the left branch.

11:43 Raimis went to the top branch.

11:47 Raimis called... then a rustle and someone flew away from the top. was it Milda? was the first rustle Milda landing there??
it was a young eagle with black&white tail.
the tail looks good, therefore not Vilnis.

I didn't see the second pigeon from phone. I thought that it is the first began to wave wings. Therefore stopped record when the first pigeon flew away.

12:02 Raimis called. i could not see why.
a grey-headed woodpecker (Picus canus) has been singing a lot in the forest this morning.

i made a picture of the first wood pigeon when he flew to the oak from the left. the white stripes on the wings can be seen quite clearly. the picture consists of two picture frames from the same second. in the insert is the later frame. also the dark wide stripe on tip of the tail is visible.
this is the original size picture.

12:15 Milda flew in and called. also Raimis called.
Image

they looked at something in the sky with extended necks. i could not see or hear anything special there.
Image

they were still looking in the sky...
12:19 a swan flew by calling. were they upset about the swan? :puzzled:

12:21 Raimis began to sing and Milda joined him. maybe Raimis had a mating thought but Milda was worried about something in the forest.
Image

maybe there is something else. they should not become worried about swans. perhaps the young eagle is on the right side? :puzzled:
Image

they called a lot. then a pair of swans flew by to the left. Milda was staring at the right side almost all the time.

i turned my back for a while and they were gone.
12:33 Raimis took off and Milda followed him. they flew to the forest in back on le right side of the swan pond. they seemed to disappear in the forest. Raimis called a little there.
Image

12:44:20 Raimis (?) called. he was not very far.

i'll have to go out later in the afternoon. i hope that Milda will make her decision well before that (which does not seem very likely) or tomorrow.
