thank you Sonchik!
the first bird was a swan who had landed somewhere near the place where the pond used to be. there must be water now again. one can hear the wings of the swan beating water when it takes wings.
the guest was a nuthatch (Sitta europaea). :D

i noticed a funny detail: the fish jaw is still hanging on the left side of the nest.

the weather has become much nicer now. the wind is very weak and it's not raining. :innocent:

Milda lay down and Raimis looked at her in The Way and said beep in a very soft voice but stopped. 8-)
Milda got up again.

I left. Milda seems gave rise?
In any case the first that I saw having returned, it as Milda makes an effort.
Now she sleeps.

It's cold but not real bad...

https://www.yr.no/place/Latvia/Other/Durbe/

When you watch their "cousins" in the US covered with heavy snow and ice for weeks - this is nothing.

It's getting really dark. Where is this dear hubby :puzzled:

They kept their routine of last year...

Both were on the nest at 16:56

17:12 Mating !

He left immediately after

14 days earlier than last year. Let's hope it'll be easier

Video is still long, I will cut out superfluous later. If who did not see in a live broadcast, rewind.

Childbirth. The first display of egg. Raymis's acquaintance to egg.

In a usual size. https://youtu.be/4skPy2G-AkE

Milda several times with strain let out the air. Several times made the groaning sound. Barely audible.

Some pictures from Mildas pushing moments.

17:42:29 The last minutes before the egg was out, Milda didn't even twitch. She was lying quietly like here.
Image

17:43:28 Milda got up to take a look at her first egg. :D

Edit:
Later it turned out, that the egg most likely was out already at 17:31:26. So it's no wonder, that Milda seemed to be quite relaxed in the last pic above.
