Oh dear! I just wanted to shut down the computer.

Thanks a lot, Hellem.
I will complete the summary.

Wow, + 225 km on the same day! That makes a total of + 1101 km in 3 days!

We have an update! :2thumbsup:

Karl
Last data: 26.03.2019
Distance: 3691 km, + 533 km in 1 day!

Our Karl is already in Jordan. :headroll:

A comparison with previous years:
Image

He crossed the Gulf of Suez as soon as he could. It is about 80 km large at that point.
Then he flew along the Gulf of Aqaba towards Jordan.

Image

He sent data close to the border with Israël, near Ne'ot Hakikar.
Image

Neot HaKikar is a moshav in the northern Arava valley in Israel established in 1970 and located immediately south of the Dead Sea, at an elevation of 345 metres below sea level.

Thank you very much, Sova

Karl flew from Egypt (nearly) straight to the Gulf of Aqaba.
The Sinai Peninsula separates the Gulf of Suez to the west and the Gulf of Aqaba to the east:

Hello together,

what a surprise! Karl made such a great flight today. 533 km in 1 day! :headroll:
I'm very glad that he is on the other side now. :loveshower:
And once again, I am deeply impressed how he knows the right way. Without any detour, on the shortest route he has reached an important aim. What a great step!

Some pictures, although here are already a lot of interesting pics. Thank you all for the detailed updates!

Karl, last position on 26.03.2019, distance 3.691 km.

Hello, :hi: Michi
Yes, Michi, the same here. I am always surprised and full of admiration when I see what these birds are able to do. Not only about the long distances that they cover, but also - as you say - the clever way in which they find the best route. It is amazing!
Many thanks for your wonderful Google Earth views!
It feels as if we are travelling with Karl.
